Newb Clutch Switch override question

I'm loosely planning on wiring in a killswitch and/or a BRB starter while I'm playing with wiring under the dash I thought I might throw one of these in, so I don't have to depress the clutch every time I start the car. Does the switch affect my ability to use cruise control? I noticed that when I depress the clutch while cruising, cruise turns off. Is this electronic or mechanical? (Will having the switch always depressed = no cruise control?)
