1,000 rpm - releasing the clutch
busted, wrecked, beat and boring!!!!
Ok lets start this off by saying this will be a slow build and honestly not that exciting but build threads seem to motivate me to do more, I got the car foe $800 I picked it up out of pa on 10/17/2014. its was an automatic with 240xxx miles, bone stock!

the automatic and 1.6 had to go! so I started looking around for a parts car that had everything I needed. I found this car with a 1.8 swap already done, it was manual and I figured If I could get a good price then I could make some money back from scrap weight. ended up getting it for $300, $100 to have a buddy tow it home for me.

1,000 rpm - releasing the clutch
With my work and home life i could only work on it a little bit during the week. but after a week i had the motor, trans and diff out! a big plus with this car was that it came with a brand new top with a glass window!! sold the seats out of it for $75, and the top off of my blue car for $50.

before swapping the 1.8 in my car i took the new rear to my buddys shop to have him weld the rear up. he called me a few hours later and told me that the diff i gave him to weld was actually a vlsd. i had him put the cover back on and id pick it up. score!!

the next step was to mod the trans harness from auto to manual. i located what plug did what and what wires are not needed cut the plugs off that i needed and used heat shrink to keep the harness safe. i then wired the auto connectors to the manual trans.
i wanted to be able to use connectors instead of hard wire so if i ever need to drop the trans i could just unplug. all you actually need to wire is the reverse switch and the neutral safety switch.
