Well we did have a Miata Club Garage / Tech Day this past Saturday at my house and we got a lot of small jobs done, Rooster's front lip and shifter boot, cleaned a Mass Air Flow on a red 1990 NA, replaced all the bulbs in the rear lights on a NB, Re-attached some Tail Light Bezels also on a NB and removed some Dealer stickers plus a fellow member had a demo on how to repair a chipped mirror housing on a 2003. [IMG][/IMG]

Had 12 guys show up and we started of Rooster's front lip.

Finished with a shinny new lip!

    [/IMG]

Next the guys started on pulling stuff out to install a new rubber boot, the old one had holes in it!

    [IMG][/IMG]

They had a little trouble with the console for some reason. [IMG][/IMG]

    Nice new boot installed.
    [IMG][/IMG]

Way too much was going on so I didn't get to watch everything that he did but I did get some pix of him at different stages of the repair of the Mirror Housing. But he did use pieces of a paper clip to help hold the filler that he used.

    [IMG][/IMG]

He used a couple pieces of a plastic Coke bottle to conform to the curve of the mirror's housing just didn't get a pix of it as he filled in the hole.
    [IMG] [/IMG]

Next he sanded it down and taped newspaper over the car to keep overspray off the window and car's finish.
    [IMG] [/IMG]

The primer had a hard time drying due to how humid it was so he took a heat gun and tried to get it dry but ran out of time and had to wait until he got home to finish it. Also didn't get any pix of the other jobs done that morning, two other things we were going to do was a Hood Strutt install and a Backup Light Switch that needed replacing but the parts were on order and would not get there in time.

Sad news: We lost my Dad affectionately known as "Papa" to his family and friends. He was a veteran of World War 2 and served with General George Patton’s 3rd Army, as a gunner in the 808th Tank Destroyer Battalion and was in the Battle of the Bulge, where he said he spent the coldest night ever. Papa was very proud of serving his country and never missed a Veterans Day parade, if he couldn't be there, we put his picture on both doors of our Miata and drove in the parade so he would be represented. He poetically passed away on Veteran's Day weekend.

I’m so very sorry about papa as I mentioned in another thread but right now, I’m more concerned for your health. Speaking from experience, you may be taking your Norvasc, Metoprolol (Toprol), Catapress or whatever at the prescribed times but you may be surprised that your subconscious might suddenly give you a jolt of hypertension despite your scheduled meds.

I carry around eight chewable aspirin and a dose of Toprol and Norvasc (both work differently to lower pulse and pressure) and at the first sign, I have 911 predialed on my phone ready for the send button just in case. I never imagined I would be in this condition but with everything that’s been going on here, better safe than sorry.

Of course you have to lower your weight, sodium intake etc etc etc but I’m just talking about a survival kit for unpredictable hypertensive episodes. I’m sorry if I’m speaking out of place.

Yes my doc gave me something to take in case of an episode. But I didn't think of carrying some aspirin with me.

Went to the Nashville/ Franklin Cars n Coffee Saturday, 3-3-2018, got to meet Midtenn86, that's his car 4 spots down from Rooster. Still had a little rubber on the paint after a run on the track but I think that looked good. Good to meet you sir and see your car up close, wish I had brought my camera so I could have taken some pics. [IMG][/IMG]

We had 31 miatas/ miati in our group, most were club members.
    [IMG][/IMG]

Some of us from our club went on a short run thru the Tennessee hills, the guy following me took this pic and put on it " Rooster out of the Barnyard" and posted it on our club's Facebook page.
    [IMG][/IMG]

    I like this shot.
    [IMG][/IMG]

Rooster was leading the pack and this shot was taken by the car following me. I think it's a pretty site on a sunny Spring day!

Well I've accumulated some new goodies and bling for the Rooster ( got there B4 that Dastardly AO, he must have been napping on the job? ) and gonna install them this weekend. Bought atank's Runabout Type 1 Fuel Lid with an added bonus: JDM fuel tax decals inside the lid[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

plus RSpeed Hood Struts and from Phatmiata's Garage Sale: Club NA "Eunos" Horn button.[IMG][/IMG]

Will post more pix after they are installed.

Planning on making the trip to MATG this year but will not be in the Rooster. Been having trouble getting it to pass the emissions test plus have been having back & knee trouble again, took a while to build back up to where I am with therapy, and trips to the YMCA pool 3-4 times a week with the the goal of making the yearly trek to Fontana. Will be driving the Green '03 instead of the Rooster.

Take it easy on your body, man. It’s easy to make it worse while you’re healing.

I'm glad you're up for the trek but sorry it can't be in a Rooster. Hope you mend well and soon!
