    Tobben's Black & Tan 95' miata

    Hello everyone,

My name is Bryan Tobben. I'm from the Netherlands and drive a 95' Black & Tan miata. My love for miatas first began when me and my buddy got a drive in the BRG miata of a friend's dad. We didn't even had a drivers license at the time and his dad didn't know his son was joyriding his car, but man was it fun. By far the best car experience I've had at the time. After that it took us both a few months to get our drivers license.
Then some day Robin suddenly bought his Silver Stone '91 dubbed Grace. What a sound! I fell in love instantly and had to own one myself.
So I searched and searched and came across a dirt cheap miata for €1200 with hardtop

I was to enthusiastic to see what was basicly a complete wreck. Everything broke down. Starting with the exhaust, soon after that came the clutch, the gearbox, the differential, and on top it had to be welded and had the shortnose problem. So I decided to part it out. We've had a lot of fun with it though.

After that I bought a VW Golf mk2 which I drove for 2 months.

But it couldn't take long to remind me about my love for miata's. Ofcourse I saw Oldekamp miata regularly, and we've had some meetings with other miata owners here in the Netherlands.

So I went looking again, this time with patience. It only took a month or so to pay up because one of my mates at the club called me saying the local Miata workshop just got a beautiful Black and Tan 1.8 from '95. It had almost everything! The perfect car, every dealer option I knew off was on it and I got it for a steal. I've known the guys at the workshop for a while now because of my old miata and they would happely sell it to me knowing it'd be in good hands. The car was imported from canada and only had just one owner here in the Netherlands ever since.

I was deep in love and this time it was for real!

I gave her the care she deserved starting with a good polishing.
Picked up some rims, got them for a bargain. I know they are replica's but everything beats the boring rims that she had.

I bought some small parts like a V-Spec nardi, clear blinker units, license plate bracket and more. Oldekamp got me an Eunos nose badge and a new leather shift boot and handbrake cover. It's starting to get some shape.
One of the parts I'm most fond of is my Club-NA limited edition nose badge 1 out of 10 worldwide. I've got a protege valve cover on the way and a pair of East Coast TSI's. Getting the retro vibe already.
Together with Oldekamp and Cermivelli we've started Retro Roadsters. With Retro Roadster we'll try to get the Retro Miata feel to Europe since we feel like there's a serious lack of Retro inspired cars here. There's mostly Boy Racer car's with (Sick YO) Stance and slammed style. For know we've created some sidestripes, the ones on my car are an example of what we'll be doing, this design will however not be produced but was intended for testing purposes.

That's basicly all there's to it for now. Thanks for looking at my topic!
