    Snagged a fun looking '92

Hi everyone!!! long time no see. I ended up getting rid of my previous miata due to being in a tight spot financially. Well it took some time but today I was able to snag a new one!
This is the little guy. http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/4990990274.html
As always I welcome all comments and considerations. My plans are to immediately start fixing it. Afterward, hopefully just enjoy it and drive it.

Welcome back, not bad for $1200 you don't really have any major body work other than the rear quarter panel. The new soft top is sweet, you just save like $600+. That's the average price of a new soft-top plus the install here in CA. I have to get a new top myself. I got rid of my hardtop. Although it reduces NVH, I didn't buy a roadster to hide under a HT. I look forward to seeing you're new build thread.

Thanks (Vegard, BoBo, atank) for all the kind words! I actually just got done washing it for the first time, and i must say that it has been abused. Yet certain parts are oddly decent. I have neither felt or seen rust on the rockers. The top is new but was put on horribly wrong and is ripped and crooked in a couple spots. I have found a few spots of relatively thick body filler thats now cracking and chipping. I think the car actually spent the majority of its life with a hard top. this would explain how even though there is a MASSIVE amount of oxidation on the paint (through all the layers of terrible paint) it is pretty easy to see where the bracket for the top protected a spot and kept it a bit cleaner. This would also explain the lack of rust even with the neglect. All in all i picked it up for a cool thousand and will not be regretting it!.

My only concern is that there is a pretty loud tick up top. I think it is on the intake side, but as i know very little about such things ill be trying my best to get a video up to take a census on the possible cause.

These are after the initial Wash.

    evidence of the hard top

Now hopefully everyone can see just where I am starting. I really only plan on fixing it to the best of my budget and ability and trying to source another hard top to keep it as safe as possible.

Looks a bit rough right now but it only takes elbow grease and a little bit of money and some time to get them looking nice. Good start for $1k!
