    Very clever convertible top cover/windblocker

I have never seen this design before nor heard of this manufacturer but the design--at least in concept--is very clever. It basically allows you to leave the cover on the car all the time and still raise and lower the top. Also, the mounting on the "Frankenstein" bolts is clever because the cover does not rest on the painted portion of the rear deck.

Whether this works as well as promised will depend on the execution, the devil being in the details.

    Still, very interesting.

Alterna has a video of it also, it looks quite smooth. I will try to find it when home.

    There it is.

Alterna has some good parts, and some weird parts. I like the combo of the trunk lid (same as malibu and madabout) and the trunk lid spoiler.

neat, but I could never deal with tilting both seats forward every time I wanted to put my top up or down. Takes me ages to get my seat position just right! lol

Yes it's neat. But like lowandrusty mentioned, it's a bit fiddly. This isn't quite Porsche Boxster (987) Spyder fiddly, but it's still a lot more than most owners are willing to deal with. I know a lot of Miata owners brag about being able to erect their top one handed from the driver's seat in a matter of seconds. How spoiled we've all become since the 1960s when tops took ages to erect and still didn't keep the weather out. Back then most tops were little better than holding an umbrella while driving! I could see this appealing to the guy who wants the fiberglass tonneau speedster humps but also needs weather protection.

I would definitely look into that if I didn't have a rollbar
