Rain rail installation question...
Is it possible to install a new rain rail without totally removing the softtop?

Do you know if your soft top has the rain rail attached? If its attached you can just remove the 14 bolts running along the rear and sides, and cut away your old brittle rain rail, and install a new one without removing the support bolts (3 on each side) in front of the seat belt tower.

Pretty much. but once you get to that stage, it's only like 6 more bolts.

The rain rail is on the original top. It's only leaking in one spot so I may attempt to repair it.

The original rails use a type of plastic that gets brittle and doesn't like to flex much. You can glue it, if you have the patience and time, but some of the new rails (aftermarket) are really pliable and pretty stout in comparison. The rails are riveted to the top, just FYI.

I found a crack in one spot. So I'm attempting to repair it with a pool patch kit. Thanks

you do not need to rivet the rail to the top either

Success...I tested the rain rail and it didn't leak...and then I tightened it up and retested it and...failure...so I just ordered a new super flexible PCV rain rain.
