    Maybe the roll bar was optional? I've seen a few with this style bar.

    aluminum roll bar came standard in them i believe, this looks to be a twin hoop lookin design

    Nah, it's one of these atrocities. Why anyone would remove the original and replace it with this is beyond me.

    The original 1001 is well documented in this thread. Main hoop goes down to the floor behind the seats and the support legs to through the rear shelf into the trunk. This just...sits on top of your carpet.

    i have a roll bar from a 1001 that ill be installing in my car, they are pretty nice, but a lot of people like to shit on them since they are still made of aluminum haha

    I was able to get the 4 point mazdaspeed bar from Kadin at CMC. IDK how rare it is because I always see bars very similar in a lot of roadsters in Japan.
