09-10-16:Just got this beauty minutes ago from Sean aka gokartn......

....arrived in 3 days from Hawaii, thanks USPS for delivering it safely and quickly!

I have wanted one of these ever since I laid eyes on it!!! For those that may not know what it is, it is one Zoom Engineering leather/aluminum(?) center console! I hope to add a few more Zoom Engineering interior parts in the future when/if the NA6 dash swap happen!!

I can't thank Sean enough for reaching out to me and working with me on a payment arrangement that worked for us both, after I expressed interest in it when he said he was selling it. It is individuals like him that make the Miata community so great to be a part of!

Will have install pics later today or tomorrow because unfortunately my lovely wife decided to take Warbird out since it is such a nice day.

09-10-16, cont'd: I did find/make the time to install the Zoom Engineering center console. First let me say it is a gorgeous piece BUT fitment isn't great. It isn't terrible but aftermarket parts rarely fit like oem. No big deal.

Another issue worth mentioning is that if you have Revlimiter's gorgeous window switches you will need to bend the connectors and wires to get the clearance you need since the console is flat, unlike the oem console that has that angle portion for the power window switch to mount.

Nothing really to installing other than some ''finesse'' to get it to align decently so on to the pictures!

OEM console w/ Revlimiter window switches and Audi TT shift ring and boot

Zoom Engineering console w/ Revlimiter window switches

Overall I am happy with it despite the fitment issues and the tan leather not matching the interior exactly, it is more noticeable in pictures than real life. If/when I reupholster the seats I would have the center console done as well since I would I either get a tan as close to oem as possible or go black. I am also thinking about putting the Audi TT shift ring/boot on it, I know, how dare I think to do such a thing! That may not happen though.

Also I FINALLY went and had my Royal Clover gold queen key cut since a unnamed chain store messed up my silver one and was a pain to use as you had to pull it out slightly for it to work. So took a pic of it to w/ my custom Revlimiter key chain.

Not going to lie I kind of like the contrast of the gold key.

Can you elaborate? Guessed the fit would be fantastic on the Zoom center console so have been contemplating on swapping out my Nakamae center for one of these on the basis that the fit would be better. Please do tell...

    @mx54life: Thanks Ed!

@Proyea: Pete the fitment issues aren't terrible but I expected better as well but Sean aka gokartn said fitment wasn't the greatest in his for sale thread.

Let me break it down from what i saw:
    1) It seems like it isn't quite wide enough in the front(it is fiberglass and has some give)
    2) There is a small gap in between the center console and radio surround
    3) It has a decent gap between the sides (front) and the dash frame and has a stack of washers to fill the gap(plan on making a solid spacer of some sort)

I guess that is pretty much it.

Welp. Thanks for the details though that's totally disappointing. I was stuck on this or the Nakamae center.. went with the former and also haven't been thrilled with the fit. I don't have power windows but the FRP under the carpet still has the cutout. Not sure if that's the cause but I still can't get the carpet to lay totally smooth so was thinking I'd "upgrade" to the Zoom. Thanks for saving me the hassle!!

Thank you my Mediterranean friend! I believe I will try out the Audi shift boot and see if the shift ring might work this week.

Pete you might reread my post, given what you quoted, as I mistyped. Still doesn't change the fact fitment isn't spot on. Seems like fiberglass pieces have a reputation for not being exactly alike so maybe others have better fitting examples.

To me this is part of modifying cars and given the excellent fitment of my other Zoom Engineering parts, I'm willing to not hold this against them.

Thanks for clarifying - I've been really happy with the Zoom parts I've added so far and get your point that FRP likely needs some help for a perfect fit.

09-14-16: From the beginning Adam aka Revlimiter has been an integral part to being the source of key parts that has made this build what I have/had hoped/dreamed about for Warbird, I mean the name was inspired by the gauges created by Adam and a custom Warbird set graces Warbird thus far.

What makes buying and dealing with Revlimiter so great isn't just his fantastic parts but at the core of it all, imho, is his SECOND TO NONE customer service. It is something that isn't appreciated until you EXPERIENCE it first hand.

No matter how small or big your order you receive a ''care/gift package'' that usually includes stickers, toy(s), candy(usually some awesome HiChew), a hand written note from Adam and of course the part(s) ordered and any needed install instructions.

This is ALWAYS a fun experience but you normally know what you are getting since after all you ordered. This experience is even better when it was unsolicited and unexpected.

So two days after I posted about the Zoom Engineering center console I receive a email with tracking information from Revlimiter about a package coming my way from him. Of course my curiosity got the best of me and I emailed Adam to which he responded to with this:
"It's just a padded envelope with nearly nothing in it. I saw a need. I threw that need in an envelope. =)"

Well, of course, I started trying to figure out what it could be. After going back over my post about the Zoom Engineering console I spotted something that I was fairly confident would bother Adam, as he is so detailed oriented.

What was it? Well look at the last picture in the post about the Zoom console that I took of my recently cut Royal Clover key.....did you look? Figure it out? Well I thought I had so I responded to Adam's email with my conclusion and Adam simply responded with "maybe....", well I was excited despite not knowing exactly what it might be.

So Adam was kind enough to take action and mailed it off on 12th and just two days later I received it, with the usual ''care/gift package" and all that goes along with it....

    .....I was right!! Yippy!

Still having a hard time seeing what "it" is with my less than stellar photo ''skillz". Well take a look at a before and after of my Revlimiter window switches and see if it is more obvious.

    Before:

    After:

So hopefully it is now obvious that the ''need" Adam aka Revlimiter saw was the ''DOWN/OFF/UP'' decal on my Revlimiter window switches that was now upside down on the Zoom Engineering console since the window switches are mounted flat instead of vertically on the oem console.

Adam may try to ''downplay'' it but I'm fairly confident he had to spend some time on the computer reformatting the sticker and then of course printing them out, getting said care package together and mailing it off. Adam was even kind enough to include two, probably because of my ''skill' for messing up the installation in times past.

Big shout out and thanks to Adam aka Revlimiter for being the number one Miata specific parts vendor in customer service, imo and undoubtedly with anyone that has done business with him, and continuing to contribute to the Miata community and my ongoing build with Warbird! You sir are one of a kind!

Wow Chad. Thank you for that post! Seriously, I read it earlier on my phone and just re-read. It made me smile huge both times. If I'd known the amount of joy a simple sticker in the mail could bring...

I agree. I haven't bought any higher price items from Adam but I can see the interactions with other members and I know a great business when I see one. Whether its following his new products or his builds, Adam is second to none. Bucky is actually what pushed me to purchase my new shoes when I wasn't completely sold on the idea.
