    Dash Paint

97 Miata with Black interior that had dash cover stuck on with Velcro. When dash cover was removed, adhesive from Velcro backing left stains on the dash. I have tried to remove stains with every form of cleaner, Magic Eraser etc.

Montego Blue paint is shot so not a show car. Just trying to clean it up a bit.

Is there a dash or vinyl paint I could use.

    Thanks

I have done a bunch of dashes, and I use PPG DBI.
I also have used an water base interior paint with good results, but id have to find the can.
My wife even stripped and painted her '92 BnT dash.
I don't use rattle can on much of anything.

I have to do this on my 93LE dash and a 91BRG dash I have in storage. I guessing it's not that hard if your wife was able to do it?

Have you tried Goo Gone or Goof off? It worked for me when I needed to remove my stickers and velcro adhesives on my Kawaski & Miata, It's like $1 at target or Safeway for the GooGone. I would stay away from vinyl rattle can paint.

I'll be painting my dash in the near future. The black is all scratched up

Actually, does anyone have any pics of an LE dash without the top painted black? Just curious what full red would look like.

This isn't the car I was thinking of (I think the owner's name was Tristan), but here is a red dash stripped of black paint.

Martin, I think with a little more time and effort you can get all the black off.

I would be worried about sun fade if the car is parked outside a lot, but if its garage kept then go for it
