Yeah it's one of my favourite parts. It is by Alterna Racing. I think since fitting the Zoom Engineering rear lights it's really helped show the boot lid more for some reason too. The owner is a top chap and if I visit Japan someone I would like to meet. He does a really interesting hard top too plus some other interesting parts. It is may some parts Rev9 should add to their catalogue range.
It's just over a year since I bought this car and added to my fleet of mx5s. Back in the day as mentioned when I first bought the car on this thread it was a car that wowed me when Suffolk Mazda imported in 2007. Back then I had a limited knowledge of Japanese parts but simply liked the look of car. Buying it in 2015 stripped off all the goodies apart from the T-House and looking sorry for itself allowed me to restore the car and do the car with my own twist of JDM.
There is some maintenance work planned this week while I've also agreed to buy some freshly retrimmed S-Limited red leather seats, which will help with the interior.

Fitted the Cusco Air Intake Chamber to the Red MK1. The ISC valve Intake hose was a pain as wrong shape so did a 'home brew' fix to connect it to the Cusco Air Intake Chamber. Performance wise seemed eager higher up the rev range but less torque compared to Arc Intake Chamber. One thing with this whole set up (K&N induction kit, JASMA approved manifold, centre exit (believe Jubiride) centre exit exhaust is the sound WOT. Sounds almost motorbike like.

Having fitted the Cusco Air Intake Chamber yesterday took the car for a drive earlier today. Whilst I am a big fan of Pitcrew Racing this exhaust and set-up sounds better then the Pitcrew Centre exit exhausts. A little 'boomy' at slow speed but WOT sounds very nice.
My Black S-Special Roadster visited Chris and Garath at The MX5 Restorer this week and had the full undersell treatment they offer. This is what I have done to my silver and red car. Their process involves lifting the car up on one of their ramps, removing the road wheels and arch liners, removing any failing existing underseal, wire brushing off all areas that will be receiving new underseal, masking anything that might need masking (such as new coil overs or exhausts) applying Bilt hamber rust treatments, applying dinitrol underseal, then applying bilt hamber cavity wax, allowing to dry before refitting arch liners and removing masking. Here are some photos of my car being done. This car as can be seen in the photos was pretty tidy anyhow and got positive praise from Chris on its condition but decent preventative maintenance job.

Thanks when I bought this car in October 2015 it had lost the wow appeal it had when first imported to the UK and the tasty parts a Japanese enthusiast owner must have carefully chosen. I'd trust if they saw the car now they would approve.
The red interior has been a search of parts from different parts of the UK to piece together. There are still some changes I want to make. For me it's a mix of the highly modified red interior in my Pitcrew S Limited and the stock red interior in my R Limited.

Needs seat runner caps, either unobtanium S-Limited ones, or normal black ones. Strange as many UK Mk1s had these, but not many Roadsters.
