Miati.. Miatae.. ;) either way James certainly has a glorious herd of em! Hasn't yet helped me convince Mrs R that I should be allowed more than two despite many wonderful interpretations you can have with that chassis!

Yesterday I found the difference in engine modifications interesting as I took the silver car with the FM2 Turbo out first (so 250bhp), then the Pitcrew with the IRTB's and then my daily car a BMW 320d (F31). The silver car was by the quickest, most torque, just rapid almost like an arcade game when you open it up. The Pitcrew sounded the best and having driven with the IRTB's make a noticeable difference to performance over a standard 1.6 even with simple engine mods (like my red and other black car) while getting in the BMW yesterday afternoon it just felt laboured and heavy to drive when normally it feels quite perky.

Thanks mate. Like the start of this thread says I have been into MX5s since I was a teenager around 19 years and my step-dad was importing various cars from Japan and I was earning some extra cash going down the docks in Southampton help collect them. I still enjoy today seeing the build threads on here from different enthusiasts. On the bucket list is to get out to Japan to attend some of the large roadster meets and attend a few tuning shops like Zoom Engineering, Corns, etc.

    Peace,
Haha. I still have a good motivation for MX5s and gain inspiration, advice and feedback from this site as the builds I see here appeal to my own preferences for MX5s. 10 to 12 years ago it was guys like Phatmiata, The Blue Potato, Retrorocket (plus a few more) along with a few pin-up cars from Japan that inspired by direction in MX5s. If I can help a few fellow enthusiasts that's good.

I am lucky Pete that she who must be obeyed puts up with my herd of MX5s! My only advice would be to drip feed them in! On another note when we first met I had a standard Passat and a MR2 Turbo. She had only seen me or gone out in the Passat till I went to pick her up once in the MR2 Turbo and she refused to get in it! Luckily since then she puts up with me being a petrolhead but would always choose whatever daily car I have over the MX5. If you are over in the UK at some point let me know. I will be in New York next February.

Met with Ry today together with Sam and Will. Got to see Ry's awesome new roadster and Will's super yellow Carb'd J-Limited. Got some photos taken as only seemed right given the occasion of 2 black Pitcrews being together.

Stunning James! Great seeing your PCC next to Ry's. The Kanspo, re-located side winkers and the PCC wiper are such exceptional details when you can see them side by side. Thanks for the pics!

It was good catching up with Ry and seeing his new roadster. Also a few parts exchanged as Ry now has my Autoblaze windscreen surround that I think will suit his Pitcrew more then mine and as it's ultra rare part nice to see it going on a worthy car. I picked up a Jubiride rear bumper for no other reason then to keep it with the known JDM parts group here in the UK and possibility it may work on my other black roadster.

As ever changes in parts. Some new parts added and others for storage. Recently roadsternut on here noticed my S-Special come S-Limited was missing the now hard to find red plastic seat runner caps. A bit of digging round my cars and calls to those in the know and my Pitcrew Roadster S Limited and the black roadster have said red plastic seat runner caps fitted. Photos supplied from the black roadster. Also ended up with a Jubiride rear bumper from ryryna6 primarily as given the centre exit exhaust point and to keep it in the known local set of JDM fans.

    Jubiride rear bumper.

Also got a spare set of Red S Limited door cards locally so may switch to them as door cards at present are from a R Limited.

Stunning - it's all in the details of which you do such an exceptional job! Didn't know there ever were seat caps on any NA's.. was this an LE only option?

No. Black caps exist too, but I've never seen them mounted on any NA seat rails I've seen. Rosenthal Mazda parts used to have them available on their parts website.

I have two more sets of the red caps, just in case I lose any of mine.

I think they ended being fitted to a lot of late European NAs, due to safety legislation (Euro NAs have some subtle interior differences; the two centre eyeball vents are different, the knobs on the HVAC are different). They were fitted to early BRGs.

    2x J001-57-041-40 outer front cover
    4x J001-57-051-40 rear cover
    1x N005-57-043-40 driver's right front cover
    1x N005-57-042-40 passenger's left front cover

My US '91 BRG came with them. They tidy things up a bit, though I wish they were tan to match like the red ones!

Do you know if Rosenthal (or Priority) ever stocked replacement red seatbelts & retractors for your LE? Trying to get a new set of red belts for mine but they can't look it up without a VIN (which won't work given mine's a Mariner)..

I scoured all their Miata parts pages and did not see the red belts, only black.
