Congrats James - a very nice acknowledgement of your dedication and work and perhaps even a new, more fitting handle for you.. Lord of the Fives. Seems quite perfect.

    Best, Pete

Thanks Pete. Hope your keeping well? The silver roadster and corns roadster got noticed by the photographer who did the photo shoot of my pitcrew for retro cars magazine and recommended them to Japanese Performance for an issue. Lord of the Fives does sound good!

it is the March issue I think they are in. You can buy a digital copy although I'm not sure if the magazine is available in the US. Here is a link to the publishers FB page.

Nice one. Hope your find the magazine interesting.

In other news had an early morning start today. Like all my other roadsters the work in progress black roadster now adorns a black hardtop. A drive through the Ashdown Forest to the other side of Sussex this morning to get it. Noticeably reduces road noise and I think it looks better too.

Congrats on the hardtop, looks great. I know you have great connections but the way parts just seem to materialize for you makes me think I need to bring a big suitcase over on my next trip to blighty.

Thanks Pete. I think hard tops are a lot cheaper here in the UK too. This had a it of a winter premium to it but was £280. Most I've paid for a hardtop I think. When you were living in the UK you were almost around the 'golden age' for JDM parts as a lot more parts came up and breakers didn't know what they had. These days it's probably connections and relationships that win the day. For example I found Russell his Nopro kit while along the way a few enthusiasts will give me first refusal on any parts they have, which is cool.

However for all that mate I would gladly swop the cold and wet weather here in the Sussex countryside for the warmer climate of LA right now!

I need to book a flight to England! I bought Noir cause I knew the hard-top was 2/3s of the asking price. You EU, NL, Nz and Aussies have the pick of the litter!

Not all of the EU. Where I live, hardtops would cost from 600 to 850 euros, but lately their prices have climbed up to 1100 euros!

For anything MX5 right now we seem a lot cheaper the the US or mainland Europe, which is nice as normally it's the opposite!

The power of google (and in this case MX5nutz....)

On driving the car on Saturday noticed the dash lights and heater controls were not lighting up. Figured a fuse had gone and no time to mess around with on Saturday. Over the weekend took a look on google for suggestions before pulling out the fuses under the dashboard and turns out when I fitted the Zoom Engineering starter button I had disconnected the wiring loop blanking switch.

2 minute job connecting the blue connected back into the blanking switch and problem sorted.

Worth a note as pretty sure I won't be the last person to do something like that.

Today I picked up the JDM part. It is a Nakamae carpet console. I think this will probably go in the black roadster. Likewise on my travels picked up a JASS Performance radiator cowl which is for the black roadster

This week I got the Nakamae vintage carpet console installed in the black roadster so now have a spare Dcuatro gear surround I may use in the red roadster or sell on.
