Thanks! It is gorgeous indeed; in fact I never thought I would like it that much! It seems smaller than it is and grip is thinner than my Nardi, which I really like. Also, the rim has a cam-like shape to it (it is not oval). Not only that, but it also seems "angled" towards the inside of the wheel; if you take a cross-section of the rim, the major axis of the elliptical shape is angled approx. 45 degrees towards the center of the wheel. Not sure if that makes it clear
I might actually get a second set of knobs at a lighter hue to match it, instead of stripping and recoating. However I think I want to fix the cracks at the "root" of the aluminum spokes...
Since I managed to split the RS8s, I wanted to rattle-can them to check the colour I had in mind before stripping/sandblasting the centers and have them professionally powdercoated. So I did a quick n' dirty paint job last night, without even bothering to prep the surface other that washing and rinsing them before painting. Here's how they turned up:
Up close under (intense) sunlight
And set against the car:
Colour is Toyota 583 Champagne Metallic, which is really close with what I had in mind. What do people think?

Agreed. I think it looks great! Maybe a touch brighter champagne colour will really make it stand out against the Strato Blue

sheksay momo. reminds of prototipo. but then I think even the std. momo is sexy without the horn condom.
I really enjoyed this thread and love your car. The wheels look great. I have a set of I took off my NA but they won't fit over the 1.8 brakes. Is the clearance ok on your 15s?

This is great. Thanks all

Thanks guys! Funny thing, I imported the wheels from UK, they were in pretty rough shape but straight and price was great given they came with virtually new 595 RSR's. Brake clearance on the NB2 "sport" big brakes is just fine, even without spacers. Will add some 5-10mm ones though, as it is less than a couple of mm between the front caliper carrier and the wheel center. Not sure on NA's though.

Instead of meaningful upgrades, this happened:
The thermostat bypass hose has had it; there's a split about 1" in length on it. Bugger since this and the TB coolant hose were the only ones from the whole coolant system that have not been replaced yet. On closer inspection, the rubber has gone soft and "rotten", most probably due to an old oil leak there.
Thankfully I realized it as soon as it happened, so no overheat and I was able to limp home. Found out that NB2s use a different diameter bypass hose from the NA/NBs, 10mm instead of 7mm diameter, which is also way more expensive and harder to find! No parts store around stocks a similar one. Local Mazda dealer has none in stock as well. Will need approx 2 weeks and 40EUR to get a new one from Mazda. Bought a generic piece of straight hose, will try to massage it to place this evening, as a temporary measure. Most probably gonna replace all cooling system hoses with aftermarket silicone ones, just because.
Since I was in there decided to replace the accessory belts as well. Wanted to do that for a while because one of them was squeaking, and they were in the car for almost 3 years now. The PO has changed them at the same time, one was OEM Mazda, the other of an unknown make. This is how they came off the car.
Guess you get what you pay for!
Also, does anyone know what this headless bolt plugs. In is on the back of the engine, right above the spot where the reroute hose would go, and it was full of oil. Most likely oil that ran off the cam cover, but still.

On my engine, a '92, that looks like where the thermister would screw in. It connects to the fuel injection harness to monitor coolant temperature.

There is a thermistor back there, albeit higher and more left than the edge of the photo. I will monitor the area closely for leaks.
