The Life and Times of a kid with some convertible he bought for $2500

Alright, this is a post to tell everyone what’s what, and what’s happened between when I bought it in late 2014 to now, July 2015.

That's the first picture I ever took of it, the day after I bought it in Long Beach, right before riding my bike to school.

So, I got my license, and what do I do with my first day of driving freedom?

You guessed it! I took it out for a drive in the mountain roads just a short drive from my house. It was cold with the top down, I was scared shitless, but who cares, right? It's all about the drive at the end of the day.

Some people go by, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." I thought, "When Miata, do as Miata." So, naturally, I fulfilled the stereotype set forward by Regular Car Reviews.

    Cones!

As you may have noticed in the pictures, my car initially had a clean left front fender. However, the Miata gods decided otherwise.

Why yes, I can take photos without a finger in the shot! In all seriousness, it was a hit-and-run over Memorial Day weekend. No idea who did it, and I'm too teenager broke to fix it right now. It needs a new front left fender, new front bumper, and judging by the sounds the cars starting to make, it's got suspension damage too. To top it off, it also needs an alignment. About the plastidip, don't worry, I removed it last month.

All in all, nothing else has really happened to it between then and now, thinking about it. Still, I could have lived happy without the hit-and-run, and hearing that ungodly noise every time I go over a bump.

I think your front bumper is fine, it's just bent that way because the fender is pushed in, which it's attached to. Nothing a blow dryer can't fix anyway. Sucks that happened. And welcome to MR

Welcome. Except for the last part about the fender, this was a cool intro. Driving with the top down in the cold . . . I love it.

Welcome, driving in the cold comes natural to a miata owner, so i'd say you've got the bug for sure - have fun, and sorry about the fender just be glad it wasn't more damaged, believe me it could have been a lot worse.

Welcome! I recognized that spot where you parked.....mainly because that was where my harmonic-balancer/crankpulley took a crap (rubber tore, and the outer portion came off). Thankfully no one stole my car as my friend and I drove to riverside to get a new crank pulley! Lol

    And......that'll buff right out ;)

Welcome! Love'd the intro! I too was too teenager broke when I got my Miata! Your car reminds me of how mine looked when I bought it for almost the same exact price when I was 16!
