I took some pix of Kirin for my blog. I'll repost all of them here but save you my commentary. You can go and read it if you'd like.

Also, I sat in the seats. Be jealous.

not much going on with the Miata, just not enough time lately with work and family stuff, but I took one of my kids out in the Miata today to get a late lunch and tool around in the Miata.

It was a chilly 58F in Florida today which is pretty cold for us born and raised here, so I got to use the heater (can't remember the last time I used a heater, haha)

Im still on the fence of which seats I'm going to keep, Nakamae, or the Lotus inspired Nakamae seats.

I have to make up my mind soon because we moved into a smaller house now and the wife is not digging the Nakamae seats in our closet.

So you will likely see either my Nakamae or the Lotus seats for sale in the very near future.

Tough choice. They both look good but I would go with the rarer one.

Since Nakamae does not offer these Type-R bucket seats anymore unless you are a prior customer I'm guessing that would make them more rare?

However the Lotus seats have been created using actual quilted materials imported from Nakamae, so which is more rare? its about the same IMHO.

Which one provides more comfort on a long drive? That would be my pick.

My own bias says the Type Rs look better. But if in your position I wouldn't know which to keep. The Lotus seats are an incredibly unique one-off pair, using material from Nakamae makes them pretty much legit.

I don't know, regardless which seats stay in Kirin, they're going to look fantastic. Kind of hard to go wrong with either.

I would go with the actual Nakamae seat. But thats me personally. You can have Lotus seats recovered and have it look very close. Those Nakamae seats are very hard to come by. The problem will be finding someone to pay the scratch those Lotus seats should command. Everyone is broke. But if anyone is looking for a RyokuRob drivers side bracket, I have mine for sale.

I like the Lotus seats but what a good place to be - you can't lose whichever you choose.

I would have to admit I had not really thought about this? The Lotus seats had extra padding added along with inflatable lumbar support and the quilted padding on top, however the Nakamae Type-R are super snug fitting, extra comfy and super low to the ground. I will say after reading JamieH's review I started to miss having the bucket seats in the Miata though.....
