Experiencing slow accelerations / bogging on 1st and 2nd gear.

So last night when driving back home from work I started experiencing a little bit of hesitation when accelerating in 1st and 2nd gear. I feels as if there is a little bit of a vacuum leak. The car's exhaust sounds a little "bubbley" when accelerating ( like bur bur bur bur ).

The car seemed to drive fine passed 2nd gear.

Last night my idle has been a little lower than usual... sitting at about 500 rpm. I also purchased a used IACV that I have been meaning to swap in, thinking mine my be sticky or faulty. I'm also hoping it has nothing to do with my clutch going or engine going.

A little info on my car:

    * Sometimes my car wants to die if I go neutral as I'm stopping at a red light, stop sign, coming off the highway (worse If I'm stopping after revving at a high RPM).
    * Sometimes my car wants to die after I start it after it is all warmed up and I would have to blip my gas to keep it alive, its fine after I start driving.

Hmmm didn't consider that. I might look into that, would that cause my car to randomly bog and accelerate slowly?

Iacv is definitely a possibility because i had a DA Integra with similar symptoms and a iacv took care of it...actually i might have just cleaned the carbon build up out.

Any hissing from under the hood? (Signs of a vacuum leak)
Any backfire from the exhaust? (Signs of a clogged cat)

I had a similar problem as yours. Slow acceleration and car wanted to die at start up. Found a nasty vacuum leak. Replaced the old tired hoses and now idle is dead on. Can't test acceleration till I fix the slave cylinder. If you already have another IACV then swap it out, clean the TB, check your hoses, and clean/replace the air filter. Hopefully that'll take care of the problem(s). Good luck!

I had a similar issue last year. Start with the basics, with idle problems & bogging check your throttle body. Make sure it's really clean. A throttle body spray and a clean towel is all you need. If it's still bogging after the cleaning I would work on cleaning the IACV with q-tips and TB-spray. If there is no improvement check for vacuum leak. Get a water spray and spray on the vacuum lines section by section. If the idle improves that means the water helped seal the leak, you just gotta find that leak. Good luck and I hope it would be an easy fix.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Today I took apart the TB and the IACV and cleaned the TB. I had a used IACV that I bought a little while ago I was meaning to swap in a while ago. So I cleaned that off and I installed it.

I will report back tomorrow after I get to test this out.

There is a possibility that there is a vacuum leak, I'll have to check for that later.

@Kungfujesus - My car isn't throwing any codes.

Ok, just tested my car after changing out the IACV, I think the problem still persists. Maybe slightly modified.

I accelerates slow... then the speed kicks in as if my car has turbo lag. Then my car will randomly lose speed as if I pressed on the brakes. I only drove around my neighborhood so I only tested it on 1st and 2nd gear.

I have an extra working but non-carb legal catalytic converter that you may wanna tryout before buying a new one. How far are you from 95747?

Well... I did, I took it off the TB when I was cleaning it. Is there a specific way to put it back? I noticed it was slotted.

Yes, it would have been sufficient just to clean the butterfly area. The TPS is suppose to be in sync with your gas pedal. Do you remember the original position of the TPS? If so just dial it back there. If not, I have a repair manual. I will post the instructions for you in a bit after I post this. You need a Multi meter & Feeler Gauge.

Willis right?I'm short on time, but here's the info on the TPS install & calibration. On the 3rd picture, read the left side of the pencil for the last part of the 94+ if you have a 1.8.
