Jamie hit on a key component: patience. It just takes a bit a time and method to get the results.

Let me start off by saying that based off those photos it looks fixable. I work at a detailing retailer and have wetsanded out paint jobs many times.

I would not recommend ScratchX , it may get the job done but there are many better compounds out there that will offer you better results and much quicker. Look up HD Cut and HD polish by 3d car care products. If you're going with a dual action polisher it will take a lot of time using and compound with foam pad, I would use a THIN Foamed Wool pads by Lake Country. Thin is key as it works much better with a dual-action polisher for compounding. After that use HD Polish with a Tangerine Lake Country pad. I would also recommend using a 5" backing plate rather than 6", as dual action polishers struggle to remove defects with the heavier, larger pads.
If you have any other questions feel free to send me a PM
