Just cut the springs. That'll work.
Looks great, Tony! A car that nice and clean, I would so springs and shocks, no coilovers.

Allow me to disagree... Not necessarily with springs and shocks, but with the way "OEM replacement" shocks and bumpstops react to lowering. If I were to go down that way, I would go with Bilsteins/Konis with FM springs and either FCM short bumpstops or extended top hats.
P.S. What suspension did you run in the black NB1?
I do have a stock MSM set (from the black NB1), just kind of sitting around. I don't think they are lower than stock, but might do better with a different set of springs. That's research I have not started looking in to yet. Whatever I do will need to be comfort focused, as I'm commuting 35 miles 1-way daily on some seriously shitty asphalt.
I hardly ever get to have fun in the car anymore.

If you get lower, you will need harder springs to avoid riding constantly on bumptops or planting the wheels in the wheelwells. The MSM billies will handle harder springs far better than "simple" OEM shocks. Actually, you might find them more comfy with harder springs, due to them being overdampened for the OEM stiffness. The FM kit spring rates seem spot on for daily use; not sure if they will fit MSM shocks though, as their "perches" on the rear are higher than those found in other miatas (if I recall correctly); you might wanna check with them. If they fit, I'd use a set, buy extended top hats or shorter bumpstops (FCM or Ohlins) and call it a day.

Any suggestions on what would give me the best look/performance? The 4x4 gap is getting to me...
I will potentially have another set of MSM suspension coming my way shortly "for free". These are at 250k, and worn out. A good candidate for a re-valve/ coilover build, but that would be a down the road thing.
I sent a you a private message.

I have many of those options .93LE Billies w/FM springs FCM bumps, Konis w/FM springs and FCM bumps, and AST "coilovers".
They all work nicely on the street, while not slammed the do have a nice stance IMHO.
NB tophats get it lower, (to low for me) but the "Coilover" is fully adjustable ..(to your wallet as well )
I fact, I am fix'in to put together a GC "coilover/Bilstein set up for the '92.

Those wheels look phenomenal, regardless of ride height.

Cetric Premium e-coated rotors and StopTech Street Performance pads ordered from Amazon, of all places.
Technafit Stainless lines ordered from Moss.
Replacement window bushing guide kit ordered from RSpeed.
Yay for maintenance!
WASABI (04-01-2016)
Looking forward for your feedback in pads once beaded
Replaced the passenger rear caliper, as the old one would not retract. New Centric rotors and Stoptech pads on the rears.
The brake lines I ordered from Moss had completely different mounting holes, so those will be sent back. I did not realize this until after I removed the first line. I bleed the system, but not good enough, I guess. Spongy on the first pump, then it bites in. I may take off work tomorrow and fix it.
Oil change Wednesday.. Wow I drive way too much.
I'll fix the driver window bushing tomorrow during lunch break
Apparently, the Techna-Fit brake lines were redesigned, and I didn't receive that info.
Today the lines went on, the oil was changed, and the slow-rolling driver window was fixed. Now I'm tired and ready for bed.
The new rear pads feel great. Breaking is much improved, now that the lines are properly bled, and that there Lucas brake fluid in the system, and actual material on the pads. No more hard vibrations under braking either... Bonus
Also of note, the other day I popped a misfire code. I checked things out and found that the cylinder 2 plug must have backed itself out of the threading. The igniter tip was completely gone, and there was metallic dust covering the coil boot, and in the cylinder. I used a magnetic rod to clean it up as much as possible. A new set of wires and plugs were installed. She's back to running strong.
Only 5Kuntil I hit 100,000... Time to start thinking about the timing belt, trans/diff/shifter fluids, and other maintenance bits.
Oops? Plug was not threaded in the hole, there was metallic dust covering the plug and COP boot, as well as the plug well. I used a telescopic magnet to clean as best as possible.
The very next day, this set me on my ass. Also, the spare tire was flat. Luckily AAA saved the day.
Also: bringing the bike to work saps an average of 5mpg off my regular fuel rate. Guess I should decide between fitness and economics.
