Thanks Ray, had a lot of backlog and had to stop procrastinating! Now just to keep on top of it

Thanks Harry! I'm super pleased with it. The plan was to enjoy it stock for a while and then I ended up doing more in the first five days than I did in six months after getting Benny . I want to get a hub so I can install the Nardi and then I think it will stay where it's at for a while. Part of why BRG was always my favorite.. so great in stock form.

Wow, thanks Adam. The pleasure was absolutely ours - so much fun to have some time off and to get our two boys out playing together!

The parts collecting hasn't slowed down. A guy building an Exocet from a donor Sunburst was moving to NorCal and needed to get rid of some doors, finish panel and trunk lid. Since they have the original paint and were crazy cheap seemed like a bad idea not to...

Garage increasingly looking like something from Sanford & Sons

I've also had an idea for a color scheme that I've really been wanting to try for a long time. A bit of Martini inspired livery I thought could work with the Mariner.
(this has been my phone background forever)

So I mocked it up with my best set of crayons and got it over to Scott at Spinnywhoosh and asked if he could get the stripes done in time for me to get them on for KINOD's 11th anniversary meet.

The stripes arrived quickly and installing got underway. The blue stripes unfortunately were almost the same shade as Mariner so are barely seen. It's not there yet but I haven't given up - navy stripes are coming along with enough extra material to cover the hardtop, A pillar, rest of rear bumper and rear spoiler. I still think it could work...

After a long work week with E3 and no time driving the Miatae I had KINOD's 11th to look forward to on Friday and it did not disappoint.

Benny and I got there the same time as Antonio and his Sunburst Bonny..

And a better pic thanks to JonB

There was a great turn-out but probably only similar numbers to RevLimiter edition with the Ohio club.

Such a fantastic bunch of people and great collection of cars. And now its fathers day so clearly a lot of garage time planned with enough hours later to get out on the road...

Great start to the day, my youngest hand-crafted me a Miata for father's day. He says he still has quite a bit of work to do, particularly the wheels, but wanted to hand it off as a work in progress...

The BRG received an R lip yesterday but there were more plans lining up for today..

Mrs R and I did a evening drive to Project G to get another Daikei hub...

So we could swap out the stock wheel...

... for the Nardi which suits the BRG perfectly.

    Added some KenAuto style points...

Then we went to clean him up and then a great father/ son drive later in the day...

Back to Benny, Martha from Bethania made a vinyl cover for my Blackbird Fabworx SD bar - super impressed by the quality of her work especially since I needed to send her the measurements as they didn't line up with their HardDog bars...

I also got some lights for the RSA's from Jason McDaniel that should help out with the complete lack of visibility the standard lights had...

I decided that since the overall color scheme was in flux that it wouldn't hurt to put on my unpainted GV headlight lid...

All in all, an exceptional father's day weekend filled with lots of Miata fun...

Couple other things I forgot. When I put the black RS Products HVAC panels and buttons in the BRG, the new (to me) silver set went into Benny. I was also test driving a new Pioneer head unit from a friend (so the old Kenwood deck and Clearwater speakers could be handed down to the BRG . The Pioneer was already set-up in a DDM works stainless steel bracket with three gauge pods. Absolutely loved the fit but couldn't stand yet another different silver being introduced to the interior (thus not a single picture) so had a black DDM with blanking plate on back order. That arrived last week and was quick work to get installed. Also upgraded the speakers to some Focal 165AC's which has delivered a real improvement. My iPhone fits perfectly underneath but I may be cutting up the blanking plate to fit the KG Works starter. Have had a couple reports from people that have owned them including Woolery and verdict is still out on whether or not it would be an "upgrade".

And on the little details, to continue the red theme I swapped out the lighter with the BRG so I could put in the right colored RevLimiter sticker .

I absolutely LOVE the clean look of that blanking plate. The whole tombstone setup is spot on actually. What are your vent rings? Missed that part somehow!

P.S. Second photo does not work for me

Thanks for the complement Harry! (and sorry about the 2nd photo. Showing up fine on my PC?). I don't miss the cubby at all and it actually holds my phone perfectly with the Nakamae center console! I pikced up the vent rings from RS Product in Japan along with my first set of black HVAC knobs and needle caps.

Thanks Ben! Its certainly been polarizing but I'm still confident it can get there especially with the big changes that are coming later this summer. Have the goal of getting the car ready for MRLS in October.
