AO - do you mean for MRLS? Doesn't seem like a stretch to be picked up at an airport and dropped off. Let me know what airport you'd be flying into. The KINOD group typically meets at 4am on Friday morning for the convey up getting there early afternoon after the requisite detours.

I'm sure Dan would be proud of what you have sculpted into Benny and having people around you that you love and share/support you is as good as it gets! Keep up the fantastic work!
Very kind words, thanks so much. Dan's inspiration over my life is a major influence for approaching my NA as a canvas to reflect some of the journeys we had together. It's made that much sweeter since I'm now sharing the passion with my eldest son and so often combining working on the car with great stories about Dan and life and cars...

Every time we drive to Cars and Coffee, I'm reminded of our trips there when I was lucky enough to have him visiting and all our reactions to the wide range of cars on display and the united passion bringing the disparate group of folks together.
Every time I discover some exceptional new parts, go on the hunt and manage to track them down in Japan or elsewhere, I remember his obsession and passion for the details.
Every time I'm at KINOD or meet other Miata fans I'm reminded how central he was to every community he ever became a part of and the joy he derived from the camaraderie.
The first time I was on a track I was reminded how he didn't get into motorcycle racing until his forties but did it with zest.
And every single time I drive I think and celebrate him (and only twice with the top up because he could never understand weather holding you back from soaking up the fresh air).

For me, the amazing people that cross our paths is what makes life and although the time with Dan was shorter than it should have been, we got so much out of every chance we had. MR.Net has already introduced me to many incredible people.. long may that continue.

RevLimiter refers to Sharka as his forever car and an extension of his soul. I can't think of a more fitting way to describe my relationship with Benny other than the fact it's more aptly a work in progress of an extension of Dan's soul...

James! I truly cannot complain.. (and besides there's never any point in doing so ).

Hope you, the family (and new job) are well too!

Up next? An ever increasing list on the interior (is that what's supposed to happen when you think you're getting close??). Goal was to get the inside sorted so I can turn my attention to the more mechanical bits.

Suspension is priority 1 (and the first more involved DIY project for son #1 and I). New tyres (because track time) and alignment. I've got to address air flow (no IRTB's in California.. I blame that compromise on the sunshine tax), and first 60k timing belt change is only 3k miles away which I'm racking up at a good pace.

Before MRLS I'll be back in Tokyo so thinking the new Corns dual tip exhaust would be a great fit for my carry on.

I *need* a Barchetta front and always keeping my eye out on the perfect set of wheels.

    Any suggestions?

Modifications Pete are a dangerous affair!

Wheel size I like 13's or 14's on a standard width roadster. I'm biased but for me it's always the lowish offset Japanese classics.

Induction kit while I've never had one JR.CAI always get good reviews.

Family and new job is good thanks. My black roadster I got last with the T-House Clubman bumper should be back from paint shop next week while even though I promised to behave have a couple of boxes of JDM for it.

And I partly blame seeing only some of your collection in person (and others in print) that started me down that dangerous path! ;)

I don't want to go above 14"s and the RPF's have been a good upgrade from daisies but not having as much luck as I would have hoped in finding the right Japanese classics on this side of the pond. Absolutely love your T-House but haven't been able to find that but the Barchetta is close.

Can't wait to see what's in your boxes for the black roadster! Next time I'm in blightly and can navigate time out of the office/ meeting rooms I'll be giving you plenty of warning. Maybe you can show me some of the spots where you manage to magic up the rare and desirables..

Using KINOD’s 10th anniversary meet as an excuse, did the first comprehensive deep cleaning.. clay bar, polish, wax etc. With the paint so tidy and an aim for a few some subtle additions, put on a few of my favorite stickers as well as a set of roundels. Ever since I saw ilGerry's build I knew I had to give it a try. The Mariner/ White contrast somehow makes it feel more Smurf-like.. undecided if I’ll keep-em but fun for now.

The 10th was a blast with so many people and cars, certainly felt like a hundred or more. Saw my first PitCrew front that hadn’t been painstakingly blended – surprised at how good the fit was. Unfortunately my eldest (co-pilot and photographer) couldn’t join and my iPhone proved how horrible it is at taking low-light pictures (or alteast how bad I am at taking them).

Got home and to bed before 2 only to get up at 5:45 Saturday morning for the early drive down to Aliso Viejo for Cars & Coffee. Seems like more people are noticing and appreciating the NA’s than when I first started going. Always such a great way to start the day and nice to be able to show off the paint work in day light (though it’s certainly less forgiving on the suspension.. probably not a bad thing as the sooner I get my set-up ordered and install, the longer I’ll be able to enjoy it!).

Yeah, sadly the one in Irvine got shut down by the city and I believe there were a few offshoots but AV seems to have captured a good number of attendees. It's in the parking lot of Aliso Viejo Town Center (26701 Aliso Creek Rd). There's a place for bagels but no more donuts which explains why my two youngest aren't as regularly coaxed into waking up early enough to go and get their weekly automotive education fix.
