Locating (stock) Springs on ISC Top Hats

I have picked up a used set of ISC top hats for use in the back of an NA. I am planning to run them with a stock NB Hard-S Bilstein set up.

How are people keeping the springs located/centered on the mounts?

They need a little clean up/paint, so I was considering welding on a small extension on the bottom (almost as if the tube passed through the plate...I know the company that makes the aluminum ones do it that way, can't remember their name!)

Should I go that way, is there a rubber isolator or something that I can add? Looking to keep NVH at factory levels.

You can purchase polyurethane/ urethane spring isolators. Summit Racing and 5X Racing are two sources for the part among others. I have read that gluing the isolator to the top hat will help prevent possible slipping.

Now, when I am shopping for a poly spring isolator, I should measure the INSIDE of the spring, correct? The coil over springs everyone uses are 2.5" inner diameter? (I know the stockers are larger, just referencing something common.)
