Remove harness bar on HD roll bar

My car has the hard dog double diagonal hardcore bar in it and I'm wanting to build a sub box for it. However the harness bar is really limiting me, and knowing I'll probably never use it is it okay for me to just cut the harness bar out? How badly would it ruin the integrity of the bar? If it will kill it too much I'll just live with my little Kicker 8"... Just really wanting to bump up the bass to compliment all of the Hertz Dieci speakers in it. Please don't flame!
    (old pic, but same bar)

Is it too much trouble to remove the roll bar you have, sell/trade it, and get a bar that's been made the way you want? I'm sure it will look better that a bar that has been cut up.

^that. I swapped rollbars in my NA. Same manufacturer. It was fairly easy and I did it myself. Everything lined up great.

I have a M2 sport with no diagonals. I was possibly looking for one with diagonals. Hit me up if you are possibly interested.

Don't weaken your bar. Remove, sell, and then get a new one without the harness piece.

How about putting the sub in the passenger foot well, less work and no cutting. Maybe a 6-1/2-8" Bazooka would be nice tied up to the harness bar? It's not gonna kick hard, but it won't take up a lot of room either. I had a few bazooka's throughout the years and they were handy in my 2-seater cars.

Or the sub box that fits in the trunk (driver side) then get a low profile subwoofer. It won't turn your Miata into a bass machine but will give you a tight low end.

Or you could send your sub box back to the 90s where it belongs ... seriously though, it's probably cheaper, quicker and safer to swap in the right bar.

Seriously the right bar will cost more than the a bazooka or a subwoofer box in the footwell or in the trunk.

I've got a HD Ace, no diagonals, no harness bar, that I probably will not be installing. I'd have to dig it out of storage, but it has all the hardware.
