    My bad...

    P0300 - Random misfire
P0550 - Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction

The first one is understandable...but also bummed as I just replaced the coil pack - but maybe it's remaining from before the replacement. I really need to reset the battery or clear the codes to see what comes up again.

Yeah, it might be time for a tuneup. I hate the timing of it all (no pun intended). When the previous coil pack went out, I was looking forward to putting money away for the COPs...but now I find I'll be putting money back into the current ignition system. I'm wondering if there was anything that could've happened to them as I was pulling them on/off when trying to diagnose the cylinder that was missing a spark. Either way. Will probably check up on that (wires).

Don't get me wrong, 'throwing money at a problem' isn't necessarily the best option BUT spark plugs and wires are relatively inexpensive and a good maintenance items to check of the list. A misfire code could be caused by other things than the core ignition system, i.e. crank sensor, cam sensor, even fuel system issues(clogged injectors, failing fuel pump, etc) could cause a misfire.

Misfire my nb2 got his name sake from a misfire issue that at its core I believe was a bad connection on the number 2 injector for the powercard but found incorrect spark plugs (plugs were oem not for boost) and half a dozen vacuum leaks. All of which COULD cause a misfire.

PS and crank sensor are in the same vicinity. I would be looking at loose wires or damage.

Odd...reset the code, unplugged all the wires and reseated them - no improvement. Then the next day...even until today the car hasn't showed any issues.

Alright new question. When my car gets to around 40mph, it sounds like one of the wheels is out of balance, but I don't feel anything in the steering even all the way up to 80mph. The suspect wheel as far as sound is concerned, sounds like it's the rear right wheel. If this wheel was out of balance, would it result in the sound withOUT the feel?

pro tip for out of balance wheels. Front wheels you'll feel in the steering wheel, rear wheels you'll feel in the petals. You can always try swapping front and back and see if the steering wheel vibrates.

Could it be a slight flat spot on the tire? I'd think if a wheel was out of balance you'd feel it.

Got the car to another tire shop, looks like my wheel ended up getting dented somewhere - damn potholes. They did what they could to get it on balance, and it's doing much better. Except now...I can hear the other wheels

Went ahead and built the CAI I've been putting on the backburner since mid last year. First results have been fun. I'll need to replace them with better cut tubes since these are barely holding on to the connectors. Found that I didn't need to go through the bottom and that there was enough room to go behind the headlight (after removing the adjuster). It's PRETTY close to the tire under full lock so I'll need to see where I can shift after the next tubes are cut. IAT sensor is mounted on the tube in the bumper area, but will move up closer to the TB again...after "v2."

Cleaned up the engine bay...which has led me to start cleaning up...my engine bay. Initial shot is terrible - but from the second shot forward, it should be much better.

    After:

Don't mind the off colored piping. That was...unintentional.

    Wiring will be cleaned up..."soon"

I really want to replace the coolant reservoir and washer bottle tanks now . Before that I'd LIKE to clean up the valve cover and intake manifold. Cleaning up with acetone didn't seem to work well. Any advice other than "sandblast and repaint?"
