    Mazdaspeed Seats or Nakamae?

Why not have both like this ?? Found this on a Japanese Blog

    1. Find old beat up Mazdaspeed Seats and take the skins off

    2. Fill in any missing foam areas

    3. Recover via Nakamae goodness

    4. The mark of pure craftsmanship

Mzdaspeed seats are nice but as mentioned I found them to sit high and are bulky in a roadster so with a full cage not good if your tall. Cool looking seats mind.

I have to agree i bought mazdaspeed seats. Love them but find them to fit just right. Im 5'11 and fat and there is not much more travel on the seats to adjust. Comfy seats, love them but I agree with this assessment after I saw it here. I may need a small diameter wheel because my legs (right leg particularly) touch the bottom of the wheel. This is a safety issue so I will likely need to get into it soon.

I did the same thing; had Type-F seats, had Nakamae-san re-shape the headrest and then cover in quilted leather. Top-shelf, for sure, but they also cost $5K for the pair.

They look so indistinct. It's just a blob of seat.

Coulda had equally bland FD seats for much less.

FD seats fit but you need to fabricate a low mount seat bracket to feel like miata seats see my build thread

You need a Mazdaspeed D-Cut steering wheel to help get clearance with the knees. It that D-Cut MOMO in the for sale section.

I think that's down to customer spec. Mine started from the same basic F-Type seat but I don't think mine could be described as indistinct.
