The clean 1990s period correct look is coming back into fashion and when done well is absolutely spot on. But the details are critical. The closer to looking like a factory demo/ catalog car, winning racer or magazine feature car of that era the better. Right now the panda look is not in fashion and two-tone paint jobs in general are tough to pull off. Maybe in another 10 years the panda will rise again. Like everything else, fashion moves in cycles.

Thanks for the interesting information. I was not aware of that complete type II aero version.
That yellow Miata with the type II kit works very well with the black center wheels and black hardtop.
I like the clean, uncluttered look.
I bet it is hard to get the rest of that kit!

Even though I am new to Miata's, I am all for promoting the legacy of our cars.
So if someone was going to sincerely restore a Miata to the full type II spec I would be willing to negotiate the wing to that person. I am sure Hammerhead would like it to be done right. I can always use an alternative wing in my build plan.

My build plan for my car is to make some subtle modifications with the right body cues to make it appear as a factory special edition. I don't want to mimic something already out there. But I will steal bits & pieces!
I sure like those spec II lower side skirts. I would sure like to add those to my build if I could find a set.

I don't plan on any two tone paint, only some selective gloss black striping.

Ever since I installed the RSA bumper, I was always bothered by how the bumper disrupted the flow of the black trim on the sides of the car. I recently installed a set of Mazdaspeed A spec side skirts, I am super happy with how it goes with the rest of my car.

PS - I can't seem to figure out how to used google photos images here anymore, sorry for the small pics.

Thanks for link! Your car looks great!
Yes, I love the lower skirting!
Darn, now it is a definite MUST to find a set!
I like how it could cover the factory rough texture black gravel guard paint.

Got the CSF radiator and Flyin Miata Stage 2 shroud. The radiator could be hung as art.
