Took the hardtop off tonight in preparation for a nice day tomorrow. Stood there a minute to enjoy my interior. Love how it has become everything I have ever wanted in a Miata.

This past weekend my father and I took a drive to Dave's Garage Open house in Oakville Ontario. About an hour and a half drove from us in Buffalo.

Quite a few nice cars. Awesome little specialty shop. Seems like Dave and others enjoyed my car.

Following my dad in his 2012

Thought Id get to meet Maxime from Rev9 but I guess he stored his car at Dave's and went to Japan. His ND is nice.

Seriously, those red seats look way better in yours than they did in mine. Car looks awesome.

Thanks!! Im liking them. But i think they're gonna be swapped for something else this year.

    Something more racecar-ish.

So they might be up for trade or sale at some point.

Lots of progress and looking good.

I went to one of Dave's Garage open house 2 years ago.
There were a lot of interesting cars and I got to see my first Ecotec conversion.
And then there was the crazy burn-outs and donuts! I never seen so much tire life go up in smoke!

AHAHA I didn't stay too long so there may have been burnouts and smoke after I left. Looks like Dave is sharing his shop now with "Burning Rubber Tire Co" IIRC. Seems to be a shop that is all about drifto and ruining tires haha

There was an Ecotec swap. and a few V8s. A couple turbos and SCs. couple NB into NA motor swaps. a 5.0 mustang swap.

If I can get a new cord for my laptop Ill plug in my DSLR and post those few photos I took of a few cars I was really impressed with.

Had a nice bonfire in the yard tonight. Family went to bed. I went to the garage... someone had to make sure the fire pit was out for good.

And someone had to install some ARP extended lugs.

Got the fronts done. I know the rears require some ebrake adjusting as well as possibly trimming the lug heads as well. Thats for another day.

Install was pretty simple and straightforward. My harbor freight electric impact helped.

Installed these so I can mount some 10mm spacers that I have coming.

Also swapped out my oem shock nuts for some Downstar nuts with plastic washer.

Thursday I was off from work and wife was home. I was able to sneak away for a lunch run with the local senior citizen Miata club.
Drove some nice Amish country roads and had a good burger.

My father and I are the only one that modify cars. One guy has a nice BRG NC that is lowered but didnt do any of the work himself.

I dont think I have ever enjoyed owning a Miata as much as I do now. And my last one was turbo!

Maybe its because I sort of know what Im doing now that im older. Maybe it's because I do everything myself until I absolutely need help. Maybe its because Im able to afford proper parts and rarely do things half assed.

I love this car and am sincerely enjoying this build. Slowly prepping it to be a fun autocross and track day machine but still keeping it looking nice with some vintage class in the process.

This Miata is becoming the Miata I have always dreamed about having.

Paul the rear studs SHOULD have heads with a ear cut off already, do they not?

Nope never mind, just double checked and the 90-93 use the same APR wheel studs front/rear (100-7719) where as the 94-05 use 100-7720 for the rear and they had the head already trimmed. Yup just do the same trimming on the head and or trim/remove the dust shield and you should be good.

One step ahead of you! Dropped of my son at my dads house today on the way to work. He's an old guy who gets bored but loves tinkering, can fix anything and loves helping. Asked him to grind part of the head of each stud down.

He had them done in a half hour.

Ill be picking them up on my way home tonight and installing this week sometime.

    Spacers should be here Tuesday.

Huge news! I sold my Mazdaspeed3 to a coworker. Time to but some Miata parts.

Some are for maintenance. Some will be parts Ive wanted for a long time. Some are in prep for an eventual turbo.

    On the list:

    Big front brake kit
    Rear brake upgrade
    Clutch and flywheel
    Megasquirt
    Wideband
    Jass headlights
    Coolant reroute
    Speedo cable/valve seals/gauge hood
Bucket seat of some sort and bracket
    Motor mounts
    Zoom gas lid
    Kg Works spoiler
    Quick release steering hub

Today was a good mail day.

UPs dropped off my 10mm Spacers from MiataCage. Theyre almost too pretty to install behind the wheels.

Fitment will be much more spot on with these.

And then USPS delivered the RS Products fender marker trim ring. Holy crap are these beautiful.

Going to really clean up the side markers

Any advice for best way to hols these things on? They're machined perfectly so they fit tight as is but Im sure they need some type of adhesive.

    Rear.

    From the front.

And on the way is a large box from 949/SuperMiata and a box from Jass Performance.
