Time to update this thread since I have accomplished a few things.

It may take a few posts to cover it all.

    Ill start with the brakes.

Picked up the Wilwood 11" rotor with 4 piston calipers from SuperMiata/949.

I didn't want to go with the $12323234.34 kit because I didn't want to spend more on brakes than what the car cost but also didn't see the need for 6 piston fronts. Maybe my mind will change one day. Annnnd for the rear Ill only be changing rotors and adding upgraded pads, then maybe a Proportioning valve.

Ordered it without the lines to save some money as I had recently purchased (but not yet installed) stainless lines. Kit arrived and I then realized I needed new lines. DOH!!! so finally got the fronts installed. will be bleeding the whole system after I install rear lines.

This kit makes the stock brakes look pathetic. I can only imagine how they'll feel!

Only hiccup during install was the line connections...My dumbass didn't realize the sticker on the back of the caliper was hiding where the new lines connected. Once that was figured out it was smooth sailing.

Pics below show what the stock 1.6 fronts look like, a compare of the parts being swapped out and what the end result looks like. Soooo much better.

    rotors.jpegstock brakes.jpegcalipers.jpegcalipers 2.jpegbrake pad.jpegwilwoods.jpegbrake comparo.jpg

Also had some time to install the middle sections of the butterfly brace. I installed frame rails last Oct or Nov. Finally got around to installing the middle and doing it alone was a pain in the ass but its so worth it.

Car feels incredible. Like a modern day car.

    Looks amazing too.

    That's all for this post.

    Thanks man!!

Here are some of the goodies that have arrived recently.

Jass Performance Lo-pro headlights. Still need to get final adjustment of the beam but they are installed and raise and lower o the proper height (thanks to a good buddy)

    headlights2.jpegheadlights.jpeg

Its amazing that I can barely see the top of the headlight lids now while driving. These are the lights that should have come on the Miata. I love flippy lights but the huge round lights just no longer appeal to me.

And since I was placing an order from JASS, I picked up their shiny fuse box cover. Made a nice difference in that area of the engine bay.
    fuse box cover.jpeg

One day cruising the 949 and SuperMiata sites I saw that the QMAX coolant reroute was back in stock. so I ordered one up.
And ordered Megasquirt PNP2. And ordered the hybrid motor mount kit.

    coolant reroute.jpegmegasquirt.jpegmotormounts.jpeg

The plan going forward for this year is to get the car as prepared as possible for a turbo in the future (hopefully this winter) but also keep it reliable and drive-able until then.

Wideband was ordered a couple days ago. Once that arrives, the install for the Megasquirt and Wideband will commence. I will do as much tuning and auto-tuning as I can. Just scheduled a day late July at a nearby tune shop to get the stock motor tuned with the MS.

Seriously loving where this car is going.

Final post of the day. My apologies everyone lol

Here are some recent pics of the car taken by someone else at Dave's Garage Open House. Dave is a guy who runs a small Miata-specific maintenance and performance shop in Oakville, Ontario. About 1-2 hour drive from my house depending on what bridge you take to get to Canada-land. Finally was able to make it to one of his open houses with my father in his Miata.

A fellow enthusiast took these of my car after he recognized it from instagram.

And here is one of my son climbing on my interior at the local Cars and Coffee. I let him do this for a variety of reasons. the car isn't exactly a show car. It is driven. It will be raced. He knows not to destroy things but he also loves to climb around on the roll bar. I let him because I enjoy watching him smile and laugh more than I enjoy a clean interior.

Was out in the garage tinkering tonight. Sought to eliminate some tire rub on the right front while turning.

While I was at it I put the R lip on. Ive always gone back and forth between the R and the GV rep. Lately Ive been in the R mood so now its on.

And had a good laugh by myself when I jacked up the left side of the car and the entire front end came off the ground about 8 inches on each side.

Crazy how stiff the car is now with the roll bar, door bars, shock tower brace, fender braces, frame rails and full butterfly brace.

And heres a photo from a few weeks ago at a meet at Daves Garage in ontario before the 10mm spacers went on.
