Came out from Lowes today to find Betty had a flat. First thought? "It's too goddamn hot for this bullshit." Annnnnnnd I immediately get to work swapping the spare on. Which, always carrying the spare finally paid off. Plus, I got to use my fancy Cusco 2 piece 4-way lug wrench.
As I was just getting to work doing that, a guy in a newer Golf GTi pulls in the spot behind me. On his way in he compliments Betty and asks if the wheels are Panasports. I tell'im "they're just a nice replica, Chaparrals." He also tell me that his... sister? (I forget) also has a Miata and that she runs it in SM. So, yeah, just kinda neat that happened in that situation.
Once I had the spare swapped on it was about 5:15 and I thought to call the local tire shop I usually go to to see when they close, which was 6. So I ran over there and waited til they could get to it to plug the tire.
All in all, from flat to spare to plugged flat in just under an hour. Still, it was hot, and I wanted to cool down. Thus, I stopped at the shaved ice place near my house.
And that was my Monday.
Monday West of you was a bummer, too. But I'm not going to rant now. Glad your day turned out chill!
