Do you think this would work for the entire transmission tunnel?

It will help, but ideally you want an air gap to control heat.

I heard Lizardskin in the transmission tunnel should be effective at dissipating the heat?

cant seem to see the photos. Seems like photobucket got you like they got me grrrr... so annoying

In the process of downloading all my photos and moving them across to Flickr. If i can be bothered im going to edit the [img] tags with the new URL from flickr so that my build thread doesnt have broken images everywhere. So bloody annoying

    Yep, they got us both.

After a lot of trying I have downloaded all my images from Photobucket and put them on Imgur. I am now trying to get permission to go back and edit all my old posts the same as you said.

F*&k you Photobucket, I want my thread back.

Ok, after the Photobucket screw over I didn’t know what to do with my MR thread, I have just gone back through the entire thread and replaced all of the Photobucket links with Imgur ones, 3 hours...

Thank you to the admin for making this do-able!

Any way, over the last few months I have been enjoying that last of the summer here in England, and driving my Eunos as often as I can. I moved house back in May to a place that has a lot of land but the house needs a lot of work, so that has taken up a lot of my time as well as the busiest year ever for my business.

I have had a few parcels arrive from Japan, one from Tomoyo san with Corn’s goodies and a Garage Vary boot lid. As my car is an S-Special it came from the factory with a wing on the boot, I never really liked it and swapped my boot with a black un-drilled UK model (kind of wish I hadn’t now), being a UK boot lid it had rust, so after a few years its not in a great state. I looked at buying a new one from Mazda and it was a reasonable price, but one from Garage Vary was slightly cheaper, wont rust or dent, and was a little more exciting.

The new one is lovely, perfect build quality as always from Garage Vary and the fit is spot on. Only issue is that they don’t come with an option for having the central brake light that the Eunos had. Not too much of a problem, and I have cut the correct holes out on the exterior and interior panels and am just making the mounting points inside.

I had also been working on my Type 1 bonnet over the summer and its now complete ready for paint, the Corn’s parcel included a panel for the inside of the bonnet which I quite liked. Getting the replacement metal latch piece in there was one of the more challenging parts, but it is perfect and has been epoxied into place and is very strong.

On of my recent YAJ finds was a 14” Work Equip 02 wheel, just one for really cheap, I had big plans.

I restored it, had a piece of glass cut and made a stand.. Ta-da… table! I surprised myself at how well this came out, the wheel looked really tired when it arrived, slightly worse than I was expecting, but the finish is perfect now.

That just about brings us up to date for now. Hopefully the winter will bring an engine swap for me, and then I can start running in the new engine before adding the turbo.

I am off to Tokyo again in about a month for just over a week, I’ll be dropping in again at my favourite Roadster shop, and cramming my suitcase.

Love your NA ben as you already know

If you are using Google chrome, download the extension "photobucket embed fix".

You can then still view all photobucket embedded files on forums!

    Ben's Eunos Thread

Thanks for the update! After a weekend at MRLS with Sharka one day I will have a GV type one bonnet of my own! I know they had those GV badges at Karuizawa but did you get one from Tomio?!

I have a short trip to Japan for a meeting on Nov 8th. When are you going to be there?!

    Thanks very much

Last night I did the massive task of editing the whole thread, replacing the photobucket links with Imgur links.

The Garage Vary bonnets are really nice, well this wasn't so great when it arrived, but much better now! I asked Tomoyo san if I could have one with my Garage Vary order and she spoke to them very nicely for me. She did say that they don't usually give them away with orders, only at some shows, but I had enough of their parts to qualify

Ah I am there in early December, jealous of you being there for Koyo season though, that time of the year is perfect for Japan. Shame you weren't in England for very long recently, one day we will tie up!

I had a parcel arrive a few days ago with my latest Yahoo auctions finds and amongst it was a set of the Work Equip limited edition centre caps and lip decals, I know these are limited to 100 sets, so I am pretty pleased to manage to find some! At the moment they will go on my shelf, but I think they might make it on to the wheels next year.

Also, I have made myself another cam cover and pulley cover for the current engine

I am sure I can make you one, this thread isn't meant as an advert though. I don't want to violate any forum rules, probably best to message me on Instagram.

    Some new additions.

I had a parcel arrived today from Corn's with a piece I ordered a few weeks ago, A leather covered brand new gauge hood, made by the master, Nakamae san. Its a subtle piece but beautiful, the workmanship is as you would expect.

Also Tomoyo san knows me well

My other addition is some pieces of carbon I have been making over the last few weeks, some carbon fibre sill covers. They are made to the same shape as the original Roadster stainless trims, but just in carbon! My Eunos came with the stainless trims but I removed them a few years ago as they were a little dented and I wasn't too keen on how shiny there were.

I'll get both of the new pieces fitted at some point this week and post some pictures, I have ordered some new stainless screws from Mazda for the sill trims too.
