    Time for an update......
    *f'k
Was away all weekend at Cadwell park, and now looks like i have not many weekends free to get this finished before July,*f'k
    *f'k
First up the dash is back in, with hopefully all the looms pulled through in the correct places...
    *f'k

    *f'k
Back to the brakes and clutch, some shiny HEL items to go on
Decided on simple black braided lines with a clutch line shorter than the original made by HEL, that goes a more direct route
    *f'k

    *f'k
Rear brake caliper about to be installed, with a fresh looking brake line retainers that i forgot i had re electroplated. so this was a nice find.
    *f'k

    *f'k
And while searching I also found the handbrake brackets that go on the rear calipers, so much time is being spent sifting through boxes
    *f'k

    *f'k
New Mazda OEM hand brake cables, also didnt feel i could make the old one look fresh, so new ones it was

Once all installed, a new rear sub frame cross rear brake line was installed

Off topic, some fettling pics on the race car a cadwell

Followed by my brother who also compete in the MK1 champioship, getting some air, he was OK and we got him out in the next race, after replaing shock/wheels and front LH wishbone

Time for an update some good progress made although spending some time looking for parts I stored away 4 year ago’s is a challenge, some in the house attic, various rooms in the house and in a garage 4 miles from my house. It seems that I have lost a couple of boxes, of some components such as interior switches, coil pack and engine harness, Big thanks to Vindi Russel who is fairly local and has an Aladdin’s cave of MX5 parts.
    So time for some pics
Starting with the very sort after seats – this was the actual reason I bought the car as I wanted them for my MK2 track car as they were a straight fit, but when viewing the car is was in a lot better state than expected, and a deal was done…

These have been dropped off to be recovered, due back next week.
Also purchased some new seat belt straps that had to come from the US…

Staying within the interior, next was to starting fitting some parts, already I have fitted dash and carpet from a jasper Conran Mk2 which is a lot more plush and thicker.
Searched through many boxes and found a selection of OEM Panasonic tape decks/cubby that I have bought over the last 3 years…

Heater panel, was change to this white one, so that had to go, new genuine facia purchased

Both the stereo and facia in place, with a nardi steering wheel (took me a long time to find one in good condition) I think I ended up buying around 6 to get this one. Plus the sunglasses holder in place…

To the back of the car, in the boot, dug tough my electroplates parts, found the fuel pipe clips and installed plus the battery componets (the wrong way around)

Plus the fuel rubber flap jobby in the boot.

Finally to the engine bay, due to not having the hose clamps / coil pack, I am working my way though methodically.
OEM hoses – full set plus a new coolant reservoir

Refresh horns ready to go it

Powersteering is all installed, repainted the reservoir and a new cooling pipe as the original was in poor condition

The upgrade ford washer jets purchased and installed, struggling to find replacement hose the correct size though…

To the underside of the car, Racing beat full exhaust sytem in place, very nice bit if kit, no CAT and no silencer in the mid pipe, will be interesting to see how lud it is.

Worth a mention, an order from Japan, some stickers that I trialled an order to see what would turn up.
The original Bilstein badge that came in the glove box of Bilstein equipped for the new owner to sticker where they wanted.

And some random pics to finish after the car had been detailed, and Raybrig headlight fitted, that have a blue tint suprisngly

Not long to go now, off to Le Mans this weekend for my stag doo,
    To Be Continued……

Been a busy couple of weeks, managed to survive Le Mans which was an incredible.

Back to the RS.... Start with the most exciting transformation.

Picked up the seats last week, pics of them before are further up the thread...

The replacement throttle cable was from a 1600 MK1 so to long...

Ready for the first fire up with the Mazdaspeed leads fitted , and nothing.... Some serious investigation was required

Turned out the fuel pump was buggered in the tank, swapped out and it fired up first time

Followed by some interior trinkets... Knee pads

and the center consol gaitor swapped out for a fresh leather one
