Finally going to wrench on the car. Pads, rotors, lines, and window bushing, oil change.

Ooh also, yesterday I picked up an email code followed by a cylinder 2 misfire. Not this shit again! The black car had a misfire plague that lasted quite a while. Guess I'll start cheap. New plugs and wires are due anyways. Going to check for spark, see if a coil is crapping out.

    Ugh. So much for progress..
    Toasted rear caliper
Moss sent the wrong brake lines
Spark plug in cyl 2 had walked itself out, and the tip of the plug was missing. The coil was coated in magnetic dust.

Not mine, but we installed the front Flyin Miata Konis on my friend's MSM. Nice quick swap. Surprising amount of drop, though the appearance could have something to do with the hill.

Oh, and this is quite bothersome:

Also, I'm trying to hunt down a recurring (4x now) p24002 code.

    Evap system leak. I'm thinking:
Purge solenoid (should have one fro the 2000 to swap/test.
Gas cap. (test from the 2000 part).
    Evap Leak detection pump

    or the highly unlikely:
Short to power circuit between the pump and PCM
    Bad PCM

Soccer mom came across the lane in her SUV and almost hit me head on. Fortunately, I avoided her and avoided a totalled car. Unfortunately, both of my passenger wheels made contact with the curb/storm grate. She, of course never stopped, and the traffic was far too heavy for me to chase her down. I'm horribly depressed over it, but they're just wheels, I guess

Yeah, they'll need machined and re-coated.

Oh well, at least the kid and I were not hurt

I TRIED to polish the lips on my work cr-01 wheels yesterday while I was detailing the car. They're not damaged or dull, just some spots that aren't as shiny as I'd like. Damnit they won't polish! I tried mothers aluminum polish, as well as the stuff that zoom sent me with my fuel lid. I tried by hand, as well as by machine, and the damn things look no different!

Clear coat? Bare aluminum should polish up pretty quickly.

I am thinking clear coat as well. My SSRs had a clear coat on top as well.

I don't think they do have a clearcoat on them, they certainly don't look like it to me, though all signs point to it being the case.

Damnit, they have a clear anodizing on them, it's damn near impossible to work with. I may just have to have the lips powdercoated or stripped and polished. That stinks!

Going to try a different intake setup. Made a trade for some other car goodies. Now I just need to find out how to relocate the coolant tank, and also clean this filter.
