I have hated at least one thing about every car i have owned but never loved a car enough to fix it.
the miata cupholder was my breaking point

It's nice to see new ideas and products for a 25 year old car, new people getting into the game, but you can't compare your design to Il's. Yours is a cool litte piece and stuff, but it's an add-on to the original console. Il's is a design made (almost) from scratch, hence the price tag. Not my cup of tea, not that I would ever pay $300 for it, but it's a solid option.
As for yours, now, the edges look kinda sharp, if you have a passenger, wouldn't that mess with their legs?
