    V8R Cowl/Fender Brace Installation Questions...

Anyone here running the V8 Roadsters Front Fender / Cowl Braces?

I'm in mid-install, including an airbag wiring delete on my 1991, and hitting a few roadblocks.

1.) Where the upper rearward part of the brace attaches to the door hinge, the middle bolt (which is fitted from inside the unit-body somewhere, and has a nut on the outside that's accessible) doesn't align with the cutout on the brace, by a large margin. Do I grind the brace, remove this nut (if so, how do I access the bolt head inside the body?).

2.) Where the cowl brace attaches just aft of the wheel-well, there are 2 vertical attachment points, I'm assuming I use the tubular aluminum spacers for this, and that they need to be cut to size... but before I cut them, can someone confirm?

3.) I'm assuming I drill a hole just aft of where the airbag wiring is routed through and attach the other screw through the void, probably best to mark and drill after all other points are aligned.

Instructions would have been nice, and I am waiting for a call back from V8R (got voicemail) but in the interim, any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

    -Matt

Just spoke to Shandelle, all questions answered. Was shocked that I was unable to find an install on here or the pointy board, will take some pictures and notes.

1.) I'm going to get a non-shouldered nut, and this should fit fine. The forward cutout is for the NB, which has different hinges.
2.) I got a bad batch of spacers, new ones are in the mail.
3.) Yep, I'll drill one hole and be fine.

A write up would be nice, I'm curious about the stiffness improvement.

Randy, I'll take a few pictures and pass along what I learn in the process. I can tell you, check your aluminum tubular spacers - they should be just over an inch.

Slampen: Good video, would have saved me a bit of head scratching when I pulled my fenders originally, and the door alignment tip is a good one. There are a few subtle differences between the GarageStar and V8Roadster braces, I'll note them when I do a write-up.
