3,000 rpm - starting to feel the power
Coolant bottle query
Hey guys
So today, my coolant was dangerously low (much lower than the line) so decided to top it up with some coolant and distilled water 50/50 mix. I've had my radiator, radiator cap, water pump and all the hoses replaced so not sure what could have caused the significant drop in coolant? Any ideas? Mind you, the last time the car was serviced was on 6th February this year.
Also, can anyone tell me what this hose is and why it's not connected to anything?
If i had to hazard a guess, I'd say its a coolant overflow?

4,000 rpm - entering the fun zone
From what I've heard it's a common issue. Doesn't mean somethig specifically. Some guys from the local forum, I had asked, told me just to top it off. The indication is not accurate.

Ah thanks for that!
I mixed one 2L bottle of coolant with 2L of demineralised water for 50:50 mix but realised that it did not need the full 4L of fluid.
Is it okay to just keep the mix in its container and if so, how long will it keep?

You had a lot of items replaced, it may not have been bled all the way. Monitor it for the next two weeks. If if continues to drop, try popping the hood immediately after a drive and smell around the bay for engine coolant. I have found a few minor leaks this way.

Thanks KFJ. Will do!
EDIT: And the coolant is okay to keep in the bottle premixed?

6,000 rpm - mere mortals would shift
Yes, I keep mine (4L) as an emergency like that.

Agreed. I either buy it premixed or make a bottle of 50/50 (coolant/distilled water) to top off with.
