    Miata's at Hallett?

I saw a little chatter about the upcoming week-end and Miata's at Hallett.

Having driven a couple HPDE's at Hallet a few years back in a
quattro pig I was really looking forward to getting my Miata on track for the first time, but, alas things came up and car did not get prepared.

Now I'm wondering if I show up anyway to watch is there any chance of getting a ride along or three and if so which day would be best?

I'm going to be there just to hang out and hopefully bum a ride or two. Last time I was there (2012?) I got a ride in Flyin' Miata's supercharged NC with Bill driving. That was fun!

My wife and I took a little road trip, already had the time off anyway so we included Hallett as a stop to see some Miata's in action.

Turned out to be a very enjoyable day, got a ride along with a guy from the Dallas area, met a fellow forum member (Marty) for the first time, and got to check out a few Miata's while they were standing still, including Marty's fantastic Italia.

Being the first time I've seen an Italia in person I found it to be a very pleasing design and really looks good in silver. Marty as I'm sure most of you already know is a nice guy and we spent a while talking and getting to know each other a bit as well as checking out each others car.

I really hope things work out next year to be able and attend this event.

Thanks Martin, always good to hang out with darksiders.

Cool Whip has developed a last minute cooling issue so my wife and I had to co drive her basically stock '97PEP commuter/beater.
Still had a blast…….if you can make this event, you won't regret.
Mark your calendars, is September 8/9, 2017.

Good meeting you, Ted. You and your wife are great folks - easy to talk to. Nice couple, nice car (that paint!) Thanks for the compliments on my car, even thought it was DIRTY. Stupid GPS led me astray and I ended up on a gravel road before I made it to the track.

Stevan, it was great to finally meet you and your wife. There are still a lot of jackasses I need to meet. Bummer about Cool Whip.
