Clean out all that adhesive, whatever it is, and lay down fiberglass mat with resin. It's messy and sticky, and itchy and requires a mask when sanding (you really don't want fiberglass dust in your lungs). Really, it's super itchy so gloves and long sleeves are recommended.

Read up on fiberglass repair. It's not that it's difficult, just time consuming and intimidating.

Unless it starts showing signs of failure, do as others have said, leave it be and continue as you had before discovering the damage.

Bought yet another cluster off a car that gets parted

Looked like an AWD item at first, but not sure. At least it was cheap, so I can justify this to myself.

Managed to get hold of a 3 point Carbing strut brace ... and then realised it wouldn't fit because of where the washer bottle is mounted. So now I'm on the lookout for another place to mount a washer bottle!

Third party as shipping also has to be handled, and most people/companies won't ship internationally due to compressed gas issues

Got a shorter trim ring in the mail from yahoo Japan today. I knew it was a bit worse for wear when I purchased it

I cleaned it up and gave it a brushed finish to match the rest of my interior pieces
