    I hate you.

I honestly forgot all about that project, but yes, I'll try to have them painted by then.

    Thanks Patrick.

@Jamie, I ordered some SEM paint yesterday, thanks for reminding me.

A few photos before the top went back on again today.

I also took the time to refurbish my OEM vents with a cleaning and new felt lining. I have a few spares, so one was modified to fit a magnetic phone holder. The center nipple and crosshairs were trimmed down ~2cm to create a recess for the holder to fit into. Devices sit much closer to the tombstone and don't stick out like they would otherwise.

Looking fantastic, great work! Did you tint your rear lights?

    Thanks!

I think it's just the lighting in that shot, lights aren't tinted. I hope I still have enough self-respect left to never do that.

With all these updates just finished going back and reading through from the start. This car has come so far and is so clean now! Great attention to detail and you've nailed the right balance of functional work as well as form! Reminded me that when work stops kicking my ass I finally have to kick it myself and finally install those frame rails. Bushing need doing too!

Again, great work, you should be proud!

Thanks very much Pete, I appreciate the compliments. It is a very simple build, especially compared to some of the other roadsters here on the forums or IG. I feel like I've done a lot of good work to it, but it's still miles away from roadsters like yours for example. Life doesn't always allow for projects like this, but I hope that can change in the future.

I'm old and lucky that life has treated me well enough that I can put money into my cars. To me my approach is altogether different than you painstakingly tackling subtle but impactful aesthetic jobs that require a huge personal time investment and patience (NA6 dash, painstakingly restored and covered in leather!!) as well as important functional updates. On the latter, re-reading the impact of the frame rails have had and you suggesting they were an easy install only helps me question the time I put into work vs what I can put into my car.

    Keep up the great work.

I love how the black wheels look on your car. I think it suits it very well. I also think that the RPF1 are kinda wasted in black. Might as well have some steelies on, and from certain angles they would look the same. But I do like how they look from a short distance

The color is difficult to capture in photos. They look a little different in person.

1979 Momo Prototipo, flat spoke variant, 320mm diameter.
Perfect size, cool patina. Also, a Revlimiter Yotsuba horn via Randy (PhatMiata.)

More details on the wheel in the next post.
