Still am, but doesn't mean I can't still work on it.
I've had the LEDs for months, just finally had time to try installing them

Looking for an NA trailer hitch, let me know if you've got one. Thanks!
I decided to make a disappearing license plate bracket, because offset mounts look gross.
Virginia law clearly states that the plate cannot swing, so I carry a 90* piece of steel and some duct tape to "fix" it on the spot if the law has any more problems with my car. For shows or whatever, I can stick something in the grill to hold the license plate always up.
I cut the aluminum piece based on a CAD drawing (Cardboard Aided Design) to dodge things in the mouth area. If you couldn't tell, I used only a drill, tin snips, and a dremel to make this. It bolts up to the white plastic bumper. I chose to cut the license plate a bit shorter vertically so that it would clear the grill without being right at the front of the bumper. It's all held together with stainless steel rivets.
Stationary, it looks like this.
At about 15 MPH this happens
Very clever
As much as I'd love to claim credit for the idea, it was inspired by a Thompson Automotive product. They want $30 + shipping. This cost me $12 for the stainless piano hinge, I had all the other rivets and bolts lying around. But mine sits further back and seems to fold up flatter because there's less material and I cut the plate a bit.
That looks way cool, but I have to ask. Is it legal?
Just read the text Andy, it's all there.
Nicely done, I have the same plan!
