Product Review: CarbonMiata Vented Sail Windows

So, I was just looking at sponsors to throw some cash to and I came upon this.

    https://www.carbonmiata.com/shop/maz...ow-vents-pair/

Damn. I didn't even know they were available. Almost immediately, I dropped them in the cart. Shipping took a bit but as expected as they were coming from overseas.

    Here they are installed:

So I was able to take it out for a quick spin before the Heavens opened up and dropped another Tsunami on the RTP. Both open and doing about 45mph, it did give a bit of air inside. Nothing major. But crack open both windows just an inch, you felt like you were in a wind tunnel. Seriously awesome. It was evening when I went out for a ride so I did get a cooler evening air. Not sure how it feels when it is super hot out. But overall, I am extremely pleased with the results! Another great product and one of our sponsors! Marc has definitely earned my business with his products.

I like them, but...are those air bubbles trapped inside the structure, or water from you testing their watertightness?

It looks like its from the glue that they used to bond the pieces together.

I am not sure if all of them will have bubbles and I am sure it will bother some people but I really don't mind them. Especially when you see how much the view is "different" with the window being opened. Not so much blocked per se but just distracted. Probably used to it being so clear for so many years.

Yeah...sorry but the bubbles look terrible. It looks like the bubbles are in their product photos as well, so CarbonMiata would say you knew what you were getting.

I guess that would apply if someone were to complain about it. My car is far from a show car and with how little air comes from my vents on the 1 or 2 setting, this is a god send. Maybe they will work on getting the bubbles out in other batches but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again, even with the bubbles.

    But I get it.

Looks like a great product. But those bubbles would really bother the crap out of me as well. However as long as you're happy with them, that's all that matters!

I wonder if the outer frame with the bubbles in it could be painted black?

Along with having the windows open the correct direction

They're not for everyone, but if you're happy then that's all that matters.

I think the way they open now allows for more air to enter. Isn't that why people want them?

Took it out last night before the storms hit again. Hit about 50mph and the vent windows open and windows cracked a bit. The amount of air coming through felt like I was driving with the top down. I was really surprised and now I have no more thoughts of getting a soft top back on the car. Haven't driven in the rain yet though. Will wait until the car is dirty to do it.
