    Boost Gauge Recommendations?

    Hey MR,

i'm currently in the process of installing a JRSC M45 supercharger on my Roadster...wondering what kind of boost gauges other SC setups have used?

I'm planning to run the SC setup with the JRSC power card for now. So will be running a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the JRSC power card. Am I right in thinking that if I insert a tee-fitting along the vacuum line, and connect another line from the tee-fitting to a boost gauge?

I'd prefer to use a boost gauge that just has a vacuum line fitting connection for now...I may consider changing to one with an electrical connection when I eventually swap in a Megasquirt ECU.

    TIA!
    My Eunos Roadster, Jazz

I used the TRD Autometer one in my AE92. Worked great for what I needed it for.

Depending on what gauges you're using, SpeedHut offers a variety of custom built-to-order boost gauges. That's where I bought mine from, and after some tweaking on their site, it's darn-near-OEM looking.

AEM. Adam aka Revlimiter can make custom faces for both the digital and analog gauges.

Just from what Ive talked with Adam about, Autometer gauges cannot be given new faces. I could be wrong though.

On my last turbo car I had a Flyin Miata autometer gauge. worked great.

That is why I suggested AEM.

I use a Classic Instruments boost gauge on Sharka. It's got decent vintage looks and has no damping. It also matches my clock.

I've tried Autometer, Glowshift, and VDO. Autometer worked well but I hated the looks of mine (personal preference, sorry Autometer fans). Glowshift was a piece of trash that never read correctly. The VDO Series 1 I had was very damped. It was odd. It couldn't keep up with pressure changes. Like dialog in a movie that was delayed a half second or so. Even more odd was the fact that I had a VDO Series 1 years ago in my coldside supercharger days. It had no damping.

AEM is nice and I can make faces for them. But I personally dislike the bezels. If only they had a nice metal bezel.

Sounds like the next Revlimiter project to me!

Thanks all for the comments. I'm most likely going to go with an Autometer gauge for now...but will finalize my decision within the next couple of days.

Hoping Jazz will be back up and running soon! Miatas at MRLS is approaching fast!
