Randy checked in as safe on Facebook! Hope everyone else is safe! We are starting to get heavier winds up here. The worst of it is supposed to be around 5:00.

Thank you! Can't imagine I'll be getting anything too bad. Mostly just rain and wind. My only fear is a tree falling on the cars. Miata is in the garage, but the BMW is outside. Fingers crossed!

Getting windy and gusty here in north Atlanta. We retreated to basement (which is pretty nice). The pine trees that surround my home are 50-75ft tall and are swaying a lot. Worst should be over in the next 3 hours. We are binge-watch TV shows so long as we have power and Internet.

Well, I'm pretty sure we missed most of it! It was nothing more than a normal rainy day here. They projected up to 60mph gusts, but I didn't see it. Saw some people in the city had a tree fall on BOTH of their cars. Ouch. No down trees here and just lots of rain. I never lost power either, but most of my friends did. I'm just happy the cars made it out alive!

    Hope everyone else is safe.

Hurricane Irma should I stay or should I go ........

Still ok here. Some really strong winds still around, I can see the trees getting blown around pretty bad. Friends in Midtown have lost power. We live near the Chattahoochee River, but we are really well above it, at least 100ft. I heard lots of emergency vehicles throughout the day. The dogs are getting cabin fever, but I think I should be able to get them out on their exercise schedule in the morning. A friend 3 miles west of me had an oak tree on his property fall over the street, but he got it cut up enough to clear it. My family in FL checked in as safe on FB, don't know if they have power though.

Glad to hear guys. The rain is starting up here now but that is all we are expecting. At least near Raleigh/Durham.

Getting reports of power outages all over the area, lots of closed roads. We just spent the day to veg. I ran out for a few last minute items around 3p, traffic was really light.

My sister lives east/northeast of Tampa. No power there. We might not hear from some of the FL folks for a bit.

Think we lucked out, wasn't as bad as the weather folks said it was going to be, had a some rain and still is a lite drizzle, also had some patio furniture blow around a bit last night, otherwise not much happened.
