6,000 rpm - mere mortals would shift
NA or NB2 wanted, Detroit area
Asking on behalf of a good friend. He is currently looking for a well preserved NA or NB2 between 5 and 8k ideally located in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area or somewhere within reach.
If you have any suggestions please let me know! Also suggestions for reliable Miata shops where he can check one would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!!

That's pretty clean. FWIW, it's not uncommon for northerners to travel down I-75 to snag a Southern car. This is the time to buy them, people are trying to unload them before winter.

This weekend I'll take some current pics, and create a proper listing. In the mean time, you can send him a link to my build thread.

5,000 rpm - there be torque here!
Hello Harry,
I am south of Detroit.
Unfortunately my wife is having some surgery this Friday at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor. She will be there for a week. So I will be going back & forth between my home and Ann Arbor. (about 1 hour)
If I have time, I could contact the seller of the car one day next week and check it out as a distraction. I will know next Monday how my schedule will be next week.
There are 4 kinds of sports cars for sale in Michigan.
1. Never driven in the winter with no salt spray exposure and kept in the climate controlled garage. This is what you want to find. These are better than a southern car because all the rubber bits and interior are still nice.
2. Same as #1 except the garage is not climate controlled. Need careful under-carriage inspection. In the early spring the cement garage floor is still cold while the air starts to warm. This leaves condensation on all the cold metal bits of the car.
3. Kept outside but not driven in winter. Need careful inspection. These are usually not desirable.
4. Winter driven. Don't even consider it. Always a give away in the sales ad... "comes with a set of snow tires" ! Don't even look at it.

Sooo...he has seen a couple of cars now, and he just mentioned he might have a way to also bring something from Cali as well. Any nice Cali miatas for sale that are "known quantities"?
