Clarence's NA8C DD miata from Italy

i see around a lot of interesting and extreme building... well i hope this will not be boring.

i bought mine in june 2009, a classic red NA8C, completly stock, build in may '94, with powersteering, no airbags, no ABS, no AC... 4 wheels 1 engine obviously.
it had already 72.000km (45.000miles), i saw it, i drove it, i bought it...

after a few months, after a heavy rain day i found a surprise: the soft top had been fitted in the wrong way, out of the rain rail..

removed the soft-top and the rainrail, replaced the rusty parts with new ones black painted.

i bought an HT from "swiming pool" blue NBFL very cheap (cheap cheap cheap) cause who sold it told me was bended...

checked the rear register bolts, alligned, repainted red and this is the story of one of my best buy for this car^^

...m.. wait there are some gold wheels on this last pic... i forget something.

    one step back.

a friend of mine bought 3 sets of BBS RM for his caddy, i bought a set from him the barrel were ok but one lips was bended. no problem, i had to change lips.

painted gold (subaru impreza BBS gold wheels color code) and painted the bolts matte black.

i started thinkin' about the wide. how much wide can i go?

i love the deep dish wheels, i wish a 9"front and 9.5" rear but here the law is that the wheels have to stay inside of the silhouette of the car...
an other think is that here in italy we are not free to choice the size of the tires. sizes are written in the car documents, you can add sizes during a special check up but you need a document from mazda italy that say you can put that size of tyres on our car. here NA stats with only 185/60r14 tyres. i added 195/50r15 but for example i can't add 195/45 because they are too small.

i the end the choice was between 8et12 and 8,5et7 (same poke of 8et0 but with more stretch) i was not sure and i chose 2" lips...
sometimes i cry on my knees in the shower because i chose the wrong size

bought them from germany, from a website without a english version, added to cart, bought with paypal... and few days after arrived. shiny!

the difference with the old 0,5" lips i tryed to "polish".

a night like a frenzy vampire closing 120 bolts, 1 looong day waiting the sealant. i was bored so i test fitted 1 wheel

the day after o went to my friend Aldo's tyre shop and bought 4 hankooks
    this is the ...shit:

    ready for the safary

    All the pictures are gone
2012: Purchased Miata, Laid off 3 days later. 4th place overall (default!), NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2013: Budget RTR build, massive increase in participation, 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2014: Suspension and more active competition in STS. 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA
2015: Time for some "form" and vintage styling (while still racing NWOR, of course).

i just noticed all the pictures links are gone and i can't edit previous post

but that was the boring story of my car (no itbs no turbos no extreme drive or drifting) and in this sense it's still a boring story but with some "new genuine used parts"

i suppose latest pics were talkin about the ARC chamber intake, here it is with some other goods: MS strutbar and 323GTX valve cover. recently bought and ready to install i have a couple of cam gears form ILmotorsport with a red cambelt. i dont need to replace the belt, mine is almost new but that one is RED, i had to buy it.

outside 2 genuine italian parts: Vitaloni Mirrors and a pair of Fiat 500 (the oldest model) side repeaters.

few pics rom the latest events and photoshoot:

i'm not a big fan of car meetings how they do here in Italy but sometimes there are cool event "hellaflush oriented".unfortnately japan cars are not so diffused (except for modern small city cars) and these events are still mostly populated by VAG and other european cars.
I attempted at one of these events last weekend and they wanted to play limbo. easy victory against the vw golfs with roof racks and 19-20" rims

A lot of things are missing in these old post but it's just an old story, let's go ahead with the news.

Car was painted 2 years ago. New coilovers HSD DT, BBS centercaps and... honestly i don't remember.
    here's a "recent" pic

I'll try to update this thread, I promise. But if you want you can follow my instagram @mr_clarence where i post most.
