You’ll definitely be happy with the COPs.

No todo que es oro brilla.
I hope so. Monitoring the health of the coils on the 10ae was a PITA, causes a lot of issues with emissions.
Mmm...COPS. I installed a new coil pack from amazon (beck arnley) - kept the original one as a spare. New one lasted 1 month. Thankfully got a refund. Old one is back on, and I picked up a new unused OEM coil pack from a user on cr.net. Now that one is in the trunk.
Have contemplated going Fab9 for a while. I keep on hearing pros/cons on quality/longevity from both parties. Except - fab9 I think is the only one that does plug and play on an OEM ECU (which mine would be).
Heard some of the same about the Fab9 coils. I figured if they werent good, there would be an onslaught of panned reviews.
Not familiar with the Fab9 COPS, however I have Toyota/Denso COPS on mine w. stock ECU. The only "mod" needed is making an adapter loom, OEM plug on one end, COPS plugs on the other. I believe there are a lot of write-ups on the topic.
The Fab9 COPs use and AEM electrical device that corrects the dwell discrepancy with the COPs and the Mazda system. You have an '04, they should already have COPs from the factory. They do in the US.
In EU we got both 1.6 and 1.8 NB2s. The 1.8 have COPs, the 1.6 dont.

Its straight up raining deliveries today like its Second Christmas!
My furry house alarms let me know when a delivery comes to the door.
The brake fluid, horn, fuel filter, and lube (Hurr! Hurr!) arrived first.
I installed the horn during lunch. Had a bad ground on the bracket, but resolved it quickly. Its nice to be able to demonstrate my passive aggressive judgement of fellow motorists again!
While testing the horn (in a closed garage), my brake rotors arrived. Im sure nothing seemed odd about a car repeatedly honking in a closed garage while dogs barked from inside the house.
More items will be arriving soon!

It's still Second Christmas here today! ;)
I work from my home office most days. My wife works from home 50/50. All these deliveries were making her nervous, so I asked why. "I ordered your B-day gift and I don't want you to see it, like the carpeting." OOhhhhhhhhh!
Sticking with the functional upgrades to comb through the car and make it track-worthy, here's what arrived so far:
Amsoil Severe Gear transmission and differential oil. Guys I know and trust who compete trust this, so I'm giving it a go. Pricing is pretty good. The thicker oil is for the differential. The heat and ambient temps I see in the summer at the track will help a lot.

When I pulled this out of the box, my reaction:
I don't think the packages have stopped arriving for today yet, but I know more are arriving tomorrow.
I think I know what I'm doing this weekend...

I love living in a big city with a lot of Miata enthusiasts! A friend and fellow track mate was parting out a very clean 99 for an Exocet build. He sold me this FM front adjustable sway bar for $80 this evening. Though not the bar I was originally going to use, I think its perfect for the dual-purpose nature of this car. Woot!
So much, such bar, more far!

That CSF looks the part! Which pads are those?
They are Stop Tech Track Day pads. I bought a set of these for my NA last year and I was happy with them for the price and performance. I ran them on the NA at Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval and a few times at Atlanta Motorsports Park. Good initial bite, nice modulation, excellent wear. They include new clips and W pins, high temp grease, and bedding instructions. $60 for the fronts, $65 rear.

Seems like a good deal. Was contemplating getting Axxis ULT for mine (fast road, occasionally track, priority on cold bite and modulation)
These are more aggressive than Axxis Ultimates.
last time I looked the ULTs were hard to find. They used to be the DEAL for a cheap aggressive street pad.
