Wrapped up the TB/WP today. No real surprises. I’m bleeding the system as I type this. The car is idling away next to me.

Transferred the fans to the new CSF unit.

Further degreasing and buttoning up of the front of the engine.

    Radiator installed cleanly.

Bleeding the system! It started on the first try.

    New decal for the toolbox.

I cannot stress how much the new garage layout helped expedite this job! I have already flushed the system with distilled water. The new coolant is clean. I will wait for it to finish bleeding, cool off, then I’ll pressure test the system to the radiator cap’s rating. What a weekend!

    One month to-do list:

    Clutch hydraulics/bleed.
    Fit race seat & harness.
Get rear sway bar and install.
    Mount tires.
    Adjust clutch pedal.
    Fuel filter.

Damn...you're doing all the things I want to do - but haven't (roll bar, COP's, radiator). I've got a set budget at the moment and am between....... COP's, radiator, or floormat/reardeck set from carbonmiata.

    Good points - err...point.

Hm...guess it'll be COP's first then. How are you liking your Fab9's so far? I know it's still pretty fresh though.

I received a few interior bits from Tom at The Parts Group. Excellent people and service. I grabbed an NB2 cluster with satin silver rings, NB2 HVAC for amber/red lighting, and an orange cigarette lighter surround.

The cluster is mainly for the instrument panel and lens until I go custom, the other bits are to remove the green-lit bits on the centerstack.

I swapped the odometer to keep things honest.

I decided I didn’t like the satin silver HVAC, so I swapped the gels/gauges onto my black one. A little heat from a heat gun and I pushed them off cleanly and well enough to reuse the original glue on them.

Pretty happy how it came out. I swapped in the orange surround and took the opportunity to move the radio down and the cubby up.

I like how the silver bits come together to break up the red and black interior.

Ooh. I like that last pic. Since the final plan is red seats on black interior - I did want some silver to go with my SS knob. First I thought only doorhandles - but those added bits you did there look very good

    Compression test (HOT):

    1: 200
    2: 185
    3: 205
    4: 205

Standard is 209, maximum variance is 28

Leakdown tomorrow or Friday. I saw something while doing the TB/WP that makes me think the head gasket is leaking. Not a big deal, really, but the LD test will help me confirm.

    Leakdown (COLD):

1: 14% (loss), air in PVC.

    2: 44% , air in PVC, air between 3#

3: 18%, air in PVC, air between #2

    4: 16%, air in PVC.

Didn’t notice any bubbles, air pressure test @ 50 psi.

    1: 43/50(psi)
    2: 33/50
    3: 41/50
    4: 42/50

Those are decent numbers on 1, 3, 4. I think the HG is leaking on #2 towards #3.
