6,000 rpm - mere mortals would shift
MRLS is no more
End of an era, after 17 years of sponsorship the track will no longer be called Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Naming rights end March 31st. Will be interesting to see what Laguna Seca's aggressive investment in the track means but hopefully it doesn't affect the annual Miata's at MRLS event.

I heard about this earlier this year. Definitely changes some things.

LSR is in more trouble than most other tracks in the US. It doesnt surprise me Mazda would pull naming rights. I think they will invest that money elsewhere. They have a vested interest in racing few other marques can equal.

3,000 rpm - starting to feel the power
This is the 60th anniversary so hopefully they will continue to go strong. Porsche Rennsport Reunion will be back for the 3rd time in 2018 and the Rolex Motorsports Reunion is an annual tradition.
As far as MMRLS goes, as I understand it Mazda had some influence getting a better date on the calendar but other than that I don't see much having to change. We had Miata events there before it was Mazda Raceway.

I didnt read the story above yet, but I was told by a Mazda person in the higher ups that Ford was buying that track now.

Miatas at Atlanta Motorsports Park has a better ring to it, but I'm biased. ;)
