I had an '06 Speed6 and would definitely buy another one. Let's be honest though, Mazda is a small manufacturer and has to be more aware of their bottom line than most car makers. While they have always made their Speed versions with manuals, they would be able to sell more as autos. If that is what it takes for us enthusiasts to be able to enjoy the fruits of their labors then so be it. Also keep in mind that the number of people who say they will buy something is usually much greater than those who actually plunk down their money (have any of you been involved in a group buy?). I did read something elsewhere that said the architecture of the new 6 chassis is such that they would have to redesign some of it in order to fit an AWD system.
