1994 NA with power lost issues

Quick question I think. Have been experiencing lost of power under load. The power returns and the problem seem to be intermittent. I have change out:
    • PLugs
    • Coil pack
    • Fuel Pump
    • ingiter for the COP setup

The only thing I've thought of was the water from the rain rail was soaking the ECU for a while, Would that be possible root cause? There was mad rust under the carpet so I'm guessing water has been introduced to the ECU for a while.

A little more info, please. Can you describe in a bit more detail what happens when the power cuts? Does the position of the accelerator affect anything? Is it only when it's cold or when the car is up to operating temps? Does weather have anything to do with it? Is the issue replicated at will or only certain times? What are those instances when it is worse/better?

It could be a bad TPS, corroded ECU/connections, etc.

The occurrence is intermittent at best and fact the car is in Florida the weather probably isn't root causes. Steve you mentioned the TPS which is the cause seeing that I've damn near changed out everything else. A with 170K on the clock why not replace it, hell I've done the messy stuff already.

    I will report back....

I suggest stop throwing parts at it and spend more time diagnosing.

if your ECU was soaked, that would be my starting point. Take it out, open the cover, inspect the board for corrosion and such.

Also, because you are chasing fuel/spark issues, I would test the relay. The circuit controlling relay, under the dash.

You would be absolutely correct, the price range for the TPS are surprisingly high. Back on topic, the ECU can be ruled out cause while the case looks water touched the insides are beautiful green in color and the plug pins are in oem appresence.

Have to pay closer attention to the occurrences and the rpms.

    Thanks for the warning.
