Anyone done a How To on Replacing a Soft Top on NA or NB models?

Have a couple of guys in our Miata club asking for help with installing a soft top, one has a NA and the other guy a NB. I have not done one of these, any help would be appreciated. Thx

They are pretty easy. I've done one. I just found a few guides online and worked from them.

Are you talking about swapping them or re-skinning them?

A Re-skin, I told both guys to be sure to order a top with the rain rail attached to save time and labor.

Nice try there kiddo, if i was ready to change out Rooster's top I'd be all over this. But one guy needs a black top for his 2002 SE Yellow and the other one I think owns a Black and Tan NA.

Re-skins are fiddly. Figure 3-5 hours each.

Have some messages out to some of the larger group asking if any have done one with no replies as yet.

For sure. the first time was a bitch. lots of adjustments, and little things that make huge differences. I was surprised at how relatively easy it was on the nc, other than having to remove the ENTIRE interior

Probably the job I hate the most. I've participated in three of them and the first thing to do is just remove the whole frame and lay it on a table. It makes riveting much easier. Oh, have a new rain rail handy since you'll have everything out.
